Hard to believe the Thanos Copter never made a cover. But that's okay, I like this character better Dragonfly #6, Feb. 1986

Blackhawk #107 (1956; the last BH issue from Quality Comics) Art: Dillin/Cuidera Like a lot of things in Blackhawk, that was a real experimental mini-helicopter: the de Lackner HZ-1 Aerocycle. It was tested by the Army, in the 50s, to be a one-man helicopter transport for an infantryman, capable of being flown with minimal instruction. However, like most things that are intended to be so simple, it was far more complicated and the project was scrapped, after a couple of crashes. There was also the Hiller VZ-1 Pawnee, which used a ducted fan, for lift. It worked pretty well, except it was extremely loud and to steer it, you had to lean in the direction you wanted to go, but it tended to want to right itself and would fight the pilot's movements.
