Saw this and joined in on another platform, and thought it would be interesting to see here as well. Where do you post here from (not geographic location, but what's your desk situation look like, what's the environment you send your missives to these boards from? Here's my current desk situation where about 90% of my posting happens (I have a chromebook down in the game room I sometimes use if I am downstairs doing something and check the boards and decide to respond to something or post something) -M

My computer is set up in a corner of my spare bedroom, on a small desk. The room serves as my office and library, plus, closets, when Barb was alive. Above the desks are reproductions of the movie posters for The Adventures of Robin Hood and The Mark of Zorro;, plus. just to the right, out of shot, is the poster for the Richard Lester-directed The Three Musketeers. In the opposite corner (two sides separated by a chest of drawers and a bookcase) are original sketches from comic book artists, including Robin Hood, by Mike Grell, Captain Marvel, by Joe Staton, a Gray Morrow Black Terror portfolio plate, the Mark Shaw Manhunter, by Doug Rice, and Sgt Strike, by Tom Lyle. Another wall has by poster reproduction of NC Wyeth;s cover to the Scribner's Edition of Treasure Island, and the 4th wall has my naval officer's commission and a photo of me receiving it, at my commissioning ceremony, in 1988. Hereare the posters above the desk.... The pictures aren't the greatest, due to lighting. My apartment is older and the landlord had installed ceiling fan/light fixture, which use candleabra bulbs. I have an LED desk lamp, by the desk, to actually see what I am typing. The clutter is usual and often includes plates, from a meal. The books are two PG Wodehouse Blandings collections, which I recently purchased, and a copy of Antony Beevor's The Fall of Berlin 1945. The cashews are for snacking. There is also a media storage unit, to the right of the desk, which used to contain the discs for my digital comic collection. They are now on an 8TB external hard drive, which is on the desk, plus the 16TB hard drive that Barb had purchased to store movies. It was a surprise discovery, while I was cleaning up her stuff. She had downloaded a bunch of movies and tv shows, to watch on her laptop. There is another 8TB hard drive with all of the music she downloaded, which is filled with her favorite progressive rock, plus a ton of other stuff. Only problem there is our tastes in music only occasionally overlapped. I'm more into New Wave, Punk, and Modern Rock, plus Rockabilly and surf instrumental and heavy metal. So, while I like some of Emerson, Lake and Palmer, I am not likely to listen to every single album and solo project.

Honestly, I post from my phone 95% of the time. Sometimes my laptop when posting images. I haven't had a desktop computer setup in 12+ years I use my phone as little as possible and never for surfing the net. I dislike small screens immensely, they bring me no joy when I am interacting with things through them, so I avoid using them as much as possible. I also do not particularly like touch screens, as my fingers are often to big to hit just one button or option, which makes using them frustrating. I'll use the actual phone, text, or message someone if need be, check the weather if I have no other option and need to know, and use GPS when driving if I need directions, but other than that, I hardly ever use my phone. I went nearly a decade between 2008 and 2018 with not even having one, as I was either at home or work 90% of the time and could be reached in either place other ways if there was a need to reach me. The only reason I got one in 2018 was because my wife upgraded and I inherited the old phone, which then went obsolete and was no longer supported, so they sent her a free replacement. If not for that, I probably still wouldn't have a phone. I usually call my mom most days and spend about 5-10 minutes chatting with her, but other than that if I spend 10-15 minutes on the phone total the rest of the week for any reason it's a lot. -M

I use my phone as little as possible and never for surfing the net. (...) I'm nearly the same - I have a (cell) phone, and use it to a) actually make and take calls, b) send and receive messages, c) take photographs and d) occasionally pay for parking locally via an app. I never use it for any online activity.

I have depth perception issues, thanks to astigmatism, so handheld devices are a pain in the tuchus. I have been typing since grade school and prefer a physical keyboard, and a desk top set up. Laptops are okay, but I am not a fan of touchpads. Barb used a laptop, but had issues with the touchpad and always used a remote mouse. I still carry a flip phone and it mostly exists for emergencies and for sending text messages.

As for where I post from, most days it's from my laptop, which is my main device, and which sits on the table in our front/dining room. Many days/nights this is the view just beyond my screen:
Edited to add: given what cody mentioned above, I have both an additional remote (wireless) keyboard and mouse.

Depends really.
Wednesdays, I usually post from the work office, the one day a week I go in and take of my department's mail and stuff. The rest of the week, its from home. Nothing special; no desk or special chair. Its from my laptop. I'm either sitting on the couch or the recliner.

Ha, yeah I kinda thought based on what I've read here in the past that I'm an outlier when it comes to phone use for posting. Please don't shun me 🙂
It just kinda evolved that way for me. Originally I did have a desktop. Then I got a laptop when I was a student-teacher. I actually didn't have a smartphone, or cell phone of any kind, until Xmas 2014. I used to have a long commute on public transit, so that's when I became a total phone addict. I guess i just like the convenience. I don't have any issues with the size or touch screens or whatever

Here's my space. People in our Zoom meetings see what's behind me, which often seems to amuse them, but they've never seen what's in front of me. The center and left-hand screens are for work (the center is a laptop, the left is an auxiliary monitor). The laptop on the right, as you can see, is for me. I love the touchpad; it quickly became second nature. The dark laptop is my wife's, and the dark screen to the right of it is the auxiliary monitor attached to the Windows XP laptop that you can just see the top of. We use that to watch DVDs from the library.

I usually do my posting on my laptop when I’m home. Usually at my dining table. It allows me to add photos and stuff. I use my tablet and phone less because it’s difficult to add pictures from the hosting site.

For now...and hopefully only a few more days, I post from here: I had to clear out a lot of stuff to show the house for sale, but I kept a few books and instruments out...and I ran across a Psycho Man action figure that I'd forgotten I ever had while emptying the attic!

Nice addition of the Moog Etherwave. I've got a Moog Theremini that I bought when they first came out, and wouldn't trade for anything. Use it frequently at gigs. I've also got a couple of other theremins (an older hand-built Enkelaar dual-wand from Tasmania and a single-wand pitch-only Theremaniacs unit), but the Theremini is just fantastic for live work due to its ability to tune to specific keys, modes and scales, plus it has a built in MiniMoog effects engine and the ability to adjust from the classic portamento to hard defined keyboard-esque scale notes.

Since the picture of your screen shows my picture posted, which shows my screen, we need someone to do a picture of your screen, showing my screen etc. and create, in effect, an infinity cover for the CCF... -M
