Please post the cover of a comic or graphic novel published by Comico, with cover date one month after that of the cover in the latest post. If a comic was bi-monthly or quarterly, you can use it for any of the relevant months, but please state in your post which month it's representing. If nothing was published by Comico with a cover date that fits the new month, please skip ahead to the next relevant month. I'll start things off with: Primer #1 (October 1982)

In lieu of cover date clarity at this point, Primer #1 and #2 were release date 1982, Skrog #1 was release date March of 1983. Az #1 along with Primer #3 and Slaughterman #1 were released in April of 1983. This one was a month later in terms of release date (May 1983) and Lonestar lists it with a "cover date" that's my basis here: Grendel #1 (March 1983)

Mike's Amazing World lists Grendel #1 as May 1983, so I am skipping ahead to June 1983 Slaughterman #2.....

So I'll just use release date for now since we don't really have a better proxy for cover date: Grendel #2 (release date July 1983)

On the Newstand feature, with it set to cover date and for Comico, it shows Grendel #1 as Cover Date May 1983. If you change it to On Sale In, it shows the same and the individual listing for Grendel just shows "1983" for Cover Date. After scrolling through things, other than Primer #6, every Comico title shows the same info if you set the filter to Cover Date or On Sale In. It appears that Comico wasn't assigning pull dates for their books, even with newsstand distribution (though I have only looked through 1987). They weren't alone in that, in my recollection, as that was more of a remnant of newsstand distribution.

When I use Mike's comic search by publisher for Comico in 1983, cover dates are generic, release dates are listed which is what I was trying to say before: Here's 1984 as well: Do we want to agree just to use this approach with release dates as listed on Mike's? Cover dates start to be listed more in 1985 it looks like. I apologize for creating confusion earlier as well, I was trying to cross-reference with Lonestar which had Grendel #1 listed as March per below as the possible cover date, but who knows how they sourced that so again, proposing using Mike's release dates.

Well, I didn't start the thread, but I usually use the Newsstand on Mike's at cover date; and, since he used release dates in absence of cover dates, it would seem logical. I just wanna get to Space Ghost and Jonny Quest!

I tend to go by whatever comics Mike's brings up for the cover date. If the cover date is stated as a generic year, you can use that comic to fill a gap, but preferably not before it's newsstand date. Primer #4 (August 1983)

Sounds good, whatever you guys want to do! But since there was a 4 month gap in publishing at the end of 1983, still going to attempt to try to make sense of the order and skip ahead: Mage #1 (Jan 1984)
