After some thought, I think I've landed on Top Shelf Showcase for the title of the new "ongoing thread" Looking at starting it possibly this week or next (we're having a tree taken down and other projects done this week so I am not sure how much I will be around or online this week, if I can manage it, I will start it this week (Friday if I do), if not the week after Likely Monday to avoid the holiday weekend time crush. I think I will put some kind of guidelines in asking people not to flood the thread-suggesting (not requiring because it's not my place or within any thing resembling my authority to prohibit people from posting as often as they want) that folks allow at least other members to post selections before they post another and to try to limit it to 1 or 2 entries as week. Plus I will suggest it be a kind of "show and/or tell" where people can post pics of their copies of the books if they have them and/or offer anecdotes about the book and why it is a top shelf choice for them-again it can be for any reason-sentimental, historical importance, just love the cover or creators involved, fun stories how you acquired the book or the trials and tribulations acquiring it, whatever the reason that that particular book or comic-adjacent item brings you joy about comics. I will also open it up a bit so that it can be comics, trades, collections or comic related items such as toys or art as long as it is somehow comic book or comic strip related (or even cartoon related in some cases). Pics of the actual item owned by the poster will not be required, as some no longer own their physical collections but I want the thread to be someplace where people can share items and memories of items that bring them joy. However, it will suggest pics of the actual item would be a bonus to the endeavor if possible. There still time for me to alter plans for this is others have input or suggestions for the new thread, and feedback on my ideas for the new thread, both positive and negative are welcome. I wouldn't mind an ongoing Top Shelf thread in the vein of "Classic Comics Purchased" or something like that. We can showcase any cool comics or comic related items. We should jump in whenever the poster thinks they got something cool to share. That's all.. keep it simple.

Limiting to 1 or 2 (preferably 1) entries is definitely a good suggestion.
I think it’d be great to remember the adage “less is more”. That can give people a good opportunity to tell the story behind something special. I mean, yes, there might be times there isn’t a story, it could be something simple, e.g. a simple purchase from Amazon. But there could be something special, perhaps someone had a comic bought for them by their grandparents, perhaps they remember buying a comic with their own money for the first time after getting their first job, or maybe a comic story holds significance for good or bad reasons (there have been times comics have been a bit of an escape for me during bleak times, e.g. the pandemic).
