I took a ride into New Jersey with the wife today and stopped at 2 comic shops. the first had nothing but the second had over 500 long boxes of 50 cent comics with an extra 25% off. It was the last day of the sale and I went to town buying 35 books. Here are the highlights-

I wasn't aware that Wildstorm had an Armageddon series, I just like all things Gen 13.

Have not bought much in a couple months...it was my birthday so I splurged a bit. The first was Showcase #80 featuring the Phantom Stranger, which I rescued from a pawn shop. It was a wall book, surprisingly priced accordingly considering they were asking $20-30 for random Gold Key issues. Then, I bought this online. It was a birthday gift to me and is a major key Spidey ish I wanted. Some flaws but the spine seems good and these seem impossible to find without some major spine issues.

Old stuff I bought for this month of June
John Byrne's ongoing Superman comic issue 10 Superman Action Comics issue that deals with Bizarro's World Adventures of Superman 400something which is a Smallville flashback story of Clark with Lana and Pete drinking and driving. Jim Lee X Men issue 3 and 4 and issue 45 1990s Wolverine issues 82 and 150 Batman Detective Comics issue that has Part 2 of Penguin Affair Power Pack issues 16, 17, 23 and 24 Amazing Spider Man. Part 1 or 2 of the Shriek and Carrion story arc Incredible Hulk. the rest of the Ghosts of the Past stuff to finally read and get it over with.
Pretty much the usual back issues for old comics that I started out with during the 1990s while Power Pack was my childhood comic when I was a little kid in the early 1980s

The first time I read it, it seemed like I imagined it or it was a bad dream... A bit off topic but is there a thread in the forum for posting Really Bad Art - you know those moments where you look at something in a comic and think - 'Someone got paid to do THAT?!' I've looked but can't see one.

I went to a local comic shop last weekend that has one of the only 50 cent bins left in my area. Last time I was there, I scored a high grade copy of the 1st appearance of Squirrel Girl for 50 cents, so that was awesome. This time around, I got lucky again. besides picking up over 30 Bronze Age books for 50 cents each, including about half the run of Richard Dragon among other things, I found this: It's in pretty rough shape - the spine is split to the top staple, which is detached. But the first appearance of Cheryl Blossom is not a particularly easy book to come across, and even in this shape it's worth a pretty solid chunk of change. I always keep my eye out for this one since it's kind of an under-the-radar key issue, but this is the first time I've ever seen one in person for any price.

On a total whim, I just bought all six issues of the Warlock mini-series, which appears to reprint all of Jim Starlin's acclaimed mid-70s run. I got the lot for under a tenner. Have I made a terrible mistake or have I lucked out?

6 issues of Starlin goodness printed on nice firm Baxter paper? That's a score.
