Just bought the first 27 issues of Batman and the Outsiders for a song. Though I'm not a huge fan of Batman, I am a big fan of team books and have never read this series. Looking forward to the next rainy day.

When it rains, it pours...couple of recent online wins that I am stoked for. First, very happy to have this ish. Always liked the cover plus first Abomination. Second, some cap issues. A few are newer but I picked these up primarily because a friend who does not shop online really needs $130 to complete his Cap run from #100 on up. Finally, Iron Fist number one. Got a good deal and it looks pretty nice

Haven't picked up much lately, since I was housebound for nearly 3 months and the house is mid room switch meaning none of my stuff is easily accessible or able to be put away should I get new stuff, but I did use some birthday resources to pick up the first volume of the Complete Valerian from Cinebook that collects Books 1 and 2 and presents Book 0 for the first time collected in English. I've only read Book ) so far, but it was a fun romp and the art seems to evolve quickly through the first 3 books. -M

Cigars of the Pharaoh is my latest purchase based on the recommendation of Luis H. Reina and this is my 16th book in Herge Series of Tintin. I was surprised to not to have it in my collection and just wanted to let him and Confessor knows about it. Got a fairly new copy from my LCS.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The story continues in The Blue Lotus, which is an utter masterpiece, but you don't need to read Lotus to enjoy Cigars. The first part of the story pretty much stands alone.

While I was in the US recently, I got the new Doom Patrol Omnibus off Amazon. I usually support actual comic shops wherever I can, but when I can get something so expensive for probably half of what I'd pay in a shop at home, I'd have been foolish not to. I'd got a fair way through the original run with scans of the original issues that I'd...er...stumbled across, but I think I'll start over from the beginning. It'll be a bit of a pain having to stoop over the coffee table to read them (this thing is huge!), but I'll live. I have never read the original Doom Patrol, but I want to. I will get the first trade of this when it comes out for sure! The earliest DP I read was back in the late 70's when they introduced a new team in Showcase which was around 3 issues (I think)? I love silver age DC, but have only read the mainstream titles, still have to read Adam Strange as well...one of these days. Nice book you have there, enjoy!

On a total whim, I just bought all six issues of the Warlock mini-series, which appears to reprint all of Jim Starlin's acclaimed mid-70s run. I got the lot for under a tenner. Have I made a terrible mistake or have I lucked out? These are AWESOME! I used to own these and have been thinking of getting them again. Marvel & DC had some great Special Edition reprints back in the 1980's. Under $10 is a bargain.

I just received "Batman From The 30's To The 70's" Hardcover book in the mail today. This is a 2nd print (1972) and is in virtually flawless condition! The book looks much better than the actual picture and is very glossy, no dents, dings, creases or tears in the dust jacket, everything SHARP! I bought this from an eBay seller who stated that this came from an estate sale & was in an unpicked library room. I have never seen a copy of this book in such nice shape and I have been looking for the past 3 years. This is my HOLY GRAIL of Batman!! I had this book and read it to death in my youth and in my OLDer years have been wanting it for a very long time. Ok, so the seller wanted $60 for it and I offered $52 and he accepted the offer. I paid $4.10 for shipping. I have seen this same book in lesser condition go for far more.

Nice pickup...especially in that condition.

Are they even releasing the DP and Adam Strange stuff in tpb? I hope so, otherwise I will not be getting it! So far they have released every DC Golden & Silver Age Omnibus into a trade format, just released Supergirl vol 1.
