It was a fantastic weekend with Cei-U! , who bought some interesting books too. Kurt, I know you recorded your purchases; are you going to post them here? D'oh! I've been so focused on wrapping up Chapter 3 (I'm close!) that this competely slipped my mind. I spent a grand total of $36 at Jet City, which netted me 37 comics. $16 I spent at our old favorite, Randy's Readers, while the other $20 went to a new favorite, Mill Geek Comics, which brought tons of dollar boxes to the show. Here's the rundown of what I got: MarvelAstonishing Tales #30, starring Deathlok. I'm within a few issues of finishing this run. Captain Marvel #22 by Marv Wolfman and Wayne Boring. Not sure hy I grabbed it but, y'know, it was only a buck. Ka-Zar the Savage #4, 6, 12, 18. This is the Bruce Jones/Brent Anderson series from the '80s. I already had #1-3 so I was happy to grab every issue Mill Geek had. Marvel Feature #5. I've been wanting to recollect Frank Thorne's Red Sonja so this is me getting my feet wet. Marvel Team-Up #14, 17-18, 55, 60-62, 67, 69, 78, 82-83, 87-88. I decided on the spot that I want a complete run of Team-Up to go with my Brave & Bold and DC Presents collections. This starter set includes scripts from Len Wein and Chris Claremont and art by Gil Kane, John Byrne, and Gene Colan. Micronauts #55. One step closer to finishing my run of the original series. Micronauts: The New Voyages #1, 13. That makes three issues of the second run. I'm a total sucker for the 'nauts. Red Sonja #14-15. The final, post-Thorne issues but it's Roy Thomas and the Buscema brothers doing sword-and-sorcery so... DCAmbush Bug #1. I'm not a Keith Giffen fan but this was funny as hell. Arak, Son of Thunder #19. Still working on this run, which has become one of my favorites. A Date with Debbi #1. Bought this for my sister's small trove of comics. It's DC's rip-off of the pre-Pussycats Josie. DC Comics Presents #6, 13, 53. Chipping away at my want list for this title. Korak #48. My first issue of the DC version. More delicious Frank Thorne goodness. Superman Family #165. I wasn't going to collect the early issues before they added the "Mr. and Mrs. Superman" series but, again, it was a buck. Superman 3-D. This is the 1997 reprint of the original and it's missing the glasses but I still think it's cool. ArchieAdventures of The Fly #29. Because why not? Gold KeyPopeye #147. This is from the '70s after the license came back from Charlton. I'm pretty sure it's all reprints but I does love me some Bud Sagendorf Sailor Man. And that's it. Nothing too exciting (certainly nothing to compare to Rob's snagging Strange Tales Annual #1) but I'm satisfied. Cei-U! I summon the four-color contentment!

Cei-U! - I noticed that you picked up this book "Ambush Bug #1. I'm not a Keith Giffen fan but this was funny as hell." and wondering the price that you paid for.

If you read the set up, he paid $6 for 37 books and mentioned picking up stuff from dollar boxes, so it's readily apparent how much he paid for each book. -M

Cei-U! I summon the bargain bin beauty! It's a bargain ... I paid $5.00 for my copy back in 2010 and I was curious! Thanks Cei-U!

Although it breaks my heart that some of the team-up books are continued stories...

Sometimes Amazon has a collection offered for a very low price, without explanation... and I don't ask, I just buy before they change their mind! Samurai Executioner omnibus #3, close to 800 pages, was on sale for 12 bucks (Canadian loonies, that is; that's less than 10 US dollars). I still haven't read any of the Lone Wolf and cub series, but here was an opportunity to finally discover the works of Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima, who inspired so many of their colleagues. It's really good. Sometimes the reputation of a book grows so much that the actuality of it is a bit disappointing, but it's not the case here.

About a week ago they had the Kindle version of volume one of The Complete Tales of Jules de Grandin by Seabury Quinn for crazy cheap. I didn't pull the trigger immediately and when I went back to get it it was about five times the price.

Bought a bulk bunch of books on ebay. Some Daredevil including the Born Again run plus 10-15 issues after. Some Zorro, some Jonah Hex...but the most intriguing of the 60+ issues was issues #1 and #5 of Usagi Yojimbo. Having heard much from people on here, I am wanting to give it a read. Plus, at like 40 cents a book, I think it is a good buy

I ordered this yesterday. Detective Comics #301. I'll probably post about it in the Batman thread in a week or so.
