I didn't know about this mini-series! I recognize Giordano on the covers... and the Space Needle... I'll definitely want to look into this one.

Spent Saturday morning at the All About Books and Comics going out of business sale. 25% off everything so I dug through their hub $1 store. Got me some goodies: $5 packs of old 70's Marvel Horror WITH 10 comics in each pack. A graphic novel and some collected Mad Paperbacks to keep in the car.
Found the book 4 of Tomb of Dracula by Wolfman, Colan and Williamson to finish off that mini-series. John Byrne Doomsday.1 graphic novel/TPB. The 1st 5 issues of IDW Star Trek: the Final Year series. A $5 War bag with Charlton Army War Heroes #33, Battlefield Action #82, Attack #60, All out Attack #42, 43, 44, 45, 46. In the $5 horror packs I managed a tidy collection: Chamber of Chills 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, Crypt of Shadows 1, Fear 9, Creatures on the Loose 12, 13, 14, 15 with monster reprints, then 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 with Gullivar of Mars and then 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29 with Thongor. Chamber of Darkness 1, 2, Special #1. 10 of the Mad Paperbacks at 50 cents each!
So I feel it was a worthwhile couple of hours poring through back issue goodness!

The package with the Bat Lash lot from Lonestar arrived this afternoon. Here's the full order... Bat Lash 1-7 plus his debut in Showcase... a couple of Bronze Age indy books, Grim Ghost #3 form Atlas completing that series and Super Cops #1 from Archie/RedCircle, with such a quintessential 70s cover... I've been away for a few days, and haven't had a chance to catch up on CCF. And what happens? the unread "follow" threads continue to build up! So here I am catching up on post-reading and thumbs-ups and drooling over some of these latest acquisitions.
Great little haul, @mrp ! Been working on a Bat Lash run myself, but I'm only halfway there. Also, it's always good to see Atlas/Seaboard weirdness at any time; and that Super Cops book took my mind back to the somewhat forgettable film of the same name.
Oh, and Icctrombone, your show haul is off-the-charts cool... especially that little Flash run... I just didn't want to take up tons of room reproducing the pics.
I also went to a small local show recently, just haven't had a chance to put up pics yet.

I think I'm going to take a break from buying comics for about a 3 month period. I'm beginning to feel like the last scene in Raiders of the Lost ark. Purchased Comics are entering my house and just getting filed away.

Stopped in Half Price Books after work tonight to see what's what with their President's Day Weekend 20% off sale and found Vol. 1-3 of Showcase Presents Batman at decent prices-Vol. 1 was 1/2 MSRP and 2 & 3 were less than MSRP after discount (I haven't seen copies of these at reasonable prices in while, and the asking prices on Amazon Marketplace are utterly ridiculous). These were the only comic material I picked up but I did find a half dozen or so vintage paperbacks (mostly Burroughs & Battlestar Galactica-one with a Frazetta cover, but I did find an elusive volume of Clark Ashton Smith short stories too) and a couple clearance DVD series/seasons (Rome Season 1 and the Babylon 5 sequel series Crusade complete series).
The Showcase volumes collect all the new era Batman material from 'Tec 327 in '64 through mid-'68.
They had a ton of DC Archives too, but my budget was limited so I had to pass and will see if thy have them later-in particular they had 10 volumes of All Star at $25 a pop-half MSRP, plus the 2 Starman volumes and the 2 Seven Soldiers volumes I don't have, plus a lot of Superman & Batman volumes but I have those in either Chronicles or GA Omnibus. They also had a ton of EC collections. It looks like someone sold off their entire collection of stuff, as the first page of all of them have a embossed monogram stamp on them. Not sure if it was from an estate or someone cashing out their collection for other reasons. They also had a bunch of Showcase volumes, some at 1/2 msrp, but the rest were priced at $20-$30 a pop. Some of that stuff has been there a month or so now, and is starting to get marked down a bit (like Vol. 2 and 3 of Batman which I picked up, they were $30 a pop when they went up on the shelf and I had passed on them twice before when I was there, but came down a bunch when I saw them today so I snagged them this time). Looks like Vol. 4 and 5 are even more outrageously priced in the marketplace (Amazon sellers were asking in the neighborhood of $100 a pop on them), so I will likely have to be patient to see if I can find affordable copies of those two (I got Vol. 6 for $3 at the Ollie's DC closeout buy in a couple years back).

Purchased Comics are entering my house and just getting filed away. Doing the same at the moment bro. The weekend splurge at AABAC retirement sale was a swan song for the next few months. Saving up my pennies, nickles and dimes for deep diving (and likely spending) at Phoenix Fan Fusion coming up the weekend of May 22nd. I shall focus upon reading in the meanwhile as I figure out my "want" list for the convention.

I went to the comic book shop earlier today and bought Chronicles of Conan the Barbarian Volume 13.
I almost bought the black and white Marvel Essential Handbook to the Marvel Universe. big old Essential trade of the Marvel Handbook was in pretty good shape too but Ill wait until next time whenever I go to the comic shop later this summer
