Honestly, the main thing I don't like about him is the bandana. I just don't like bandanas. Or scarves, for that matter, but luckily there aren't many superheroes who use a scarf as a costume. Just one or two. And I don't like them either. Is Bruce Wayne sporting an ascot acceptable?

My problems with scarves as a fashion statement are more about women's scarves than men's scarves. Big winter-style scarves are usually acceptable. Little wispy silk scarves that serve no function, I don't care for. So I don't mind the 4th Doctor either. 4th Doctor type scarf - okay: This kind of scarf - hell no. This might even be worse than a bandana, I'm not sure:

So, is this thread dead, then? I hope not. I've missed it. But even if Scott has moved on to other priorities, there's plenty of great content here to go through again.

No, it's not dead, I'll get back to it eventually. I just need a little more time to forget how bad most of these comics are, so I can fool myself into getting excited about reading more of them.
I'm also at the point where two of the titles are Dollar books, which takes a whole lot longer to read and review.

Good to hear, Crimebuster! I know what you mean. Many of these stories are a bit silly. For what it's worth, I just finished reading Action Comics #515 (story continues to next issue) and I thought it was very good...by Bronze Age Superman standards.

You know, sometimes, in some some comics forum, someone wails how wonderful were the pre-crisis Superman and his stories, and how Crisis on Infinite Earths totally, totally ruined him... I found this chart with the Top 100 Comics Sales of december 1984 (direct sales only) and the best position for a Superman comics was 55th...

Good link. Interestingly, and just for accuracy's sake, Comics Feature, which published that chart, completely brain-locked and put a December 1984 date on it, when the books were on sale in January of '84 on newsstands, or December of '83 at comics shops. Based on the one issue of Comics Feature I used to own, typos were rather commonplace in that magazine.
