Is it me or is this one of the nicest threads ever?

I buy my niece copies of Adventure Time and My Little Pony every month. She can't read them fast enough. I've also been buying her the trades of Bone which she really enjoys and those digests they used to do for Spider-Girl.

Hmmm do I still have to sit at the kid's table? Jesting aside, nice collections everyone! It's always nice to see young collectors out there.

I buy both of my daughters (8 1/2 and 6) all of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic books that come out, and they are very excited because there is going to be a Littlest Pet Shop mini coming out soon. My older daughter is looking to branch out into some of my comics, so I my let her read some of the duplicates that are tucked away (things that I've either upgraded or accidentally bought a second copy out of the $1 box because my want list wasn't updated).
As I mentioned in another thread (at least I think I did; it's all been downhill since I turned 40), she got a Marvel Team-Up Essentials for free on FCBD and has already read the entire thing; it was volume 3, so it had a bunch of Claremont/Byrne in it, and there are far worse ways to get introduced to mainstream Marvel superheroes than with those two guys.

kittypryde got to meet Chris Claremont and Don Rosa at Motor City Comic Con. Both were incredibly sweet to her and also pretty surprised when it turned out that she'd actually read their works and knew their characters

Hey everyone! I haven't gotten to work much on my Bucky drawing, because I've been really busy lately. But schools out now, so I should be able to finish it really soon!

When my nephew was younger, I got him hooked on Bone and the first Mouse Guard. Now he's 15 and still loves both franchises, still rereads parts of Bone every now and then and pretty much is fine with me giving him the new Mouse Guard every birthday. My niece, six years younger, also loves Bone, and when she was MUCH younger Little Mouse Gets Ready. But she also just fell in love with Mary Marvel from Jeff Smith's Shazam, and sometimes we read old Golden Age/70s era Captain Marvel together, with voices and everything. Another success story with her is, to some extent, the Carl Barks/Don Rosa stuff, but the best one has probably been Thor: The MIghty Avenger, which I thought we'd read together over the course of several avuncular visits, but no, we read it in a day. www.comicscube.com/2014/04/a-sense-of-wonder-thor-mighty-avenger.html

Perhaps if I can tear her away from anime waffles for more than 5 minutes at a time you'll see more of her... not a good bet at the moment though

It's one of several hundred semi-legal web sites that streams anime for free. For whatever reason, it's the one that her and her crew have latched onto.

Yep, anime waffles is awesome! There's no commercials during the episode, only right before it starts. Anyway, I've finished the Bucky drawing an should be posting it soon!
