Something fun and fairly easy to collect... Marvel Two in One 1-100 plus the annuals. Lots of great team ups with well known Marvel characters (and some lesser known, Blue Diamond I'm looking at you) You could even add the 36 Thing solo series issues which started the month after MTIO ended. The Pegasus Project run in particular is excellent. And also the Warlock three parter and The Serpent Crown Affair.

Hmmm...I meant the full run, but didn't know it lasted 59 issues when I said that. I would think those non Kirby issues would be very cheap. Back at the time, I had no interest in the series without Kirby but looking at them now on the GCD, it looks like they could be interesting. I read the issue after Kirby departed, and it was utter garbage. Bought and read the final issue just to see if it improved over time, and it felt pretty much the same. Personally, I'd recommend only including the Kirby issues, but it's your dime. I really liked the last few issues...

What I remember being the most distinct about the series, even beyond that, was the quirky upbeat secretary. I remember an extended scene of her just sort of singing to herself, I think? It's been a while. Kim Liang- mrp beat me to it. I just noticed. I do remember her saying "jive" though, but it's been forever. A shame she later turned out not to be real...

I thought that Marvel Films stopped making movies dealing with X-Men and I was surprised to see them restarting with that article that wickedmountain posted from Newsarama. This is totally caught me by surprise. Marvel have never made an X-Men movie. Fox have the movie rights.

I have that entire run, and every issue since. It cost me considerably less than that, though admittedly it took a lot of years. Of course if you get reprint issues, its a lot less but a few years ago I added up how much the first 200 issues were and it was pretty pricey. All of mine are the originals. The most expensive single issue was #1, at just over a hundred quid. Everything from around #150 I bought as they came out, so cover price.

Marvel's Avengers #1 through 298. . If you tried to acquire that entire run it might run you 10 grand. I have that entire run, and every issue since. It cost me considerably less than that, though admittedly it took a lot of years.

The Daredevils #1-11, the entire run of the best magazine Marvel UK ever published, featuring much of Alan Moore's finest work.

Just read the first two issues of Foolkiller, that rarest of things, a Marvel title that embraces and builds on past continuity! Greg Salinger has built a new life as a psychotherapist sice giving up the identity of Foolkiller, but hisinability to prevent a tragedy pushes him back into the mask...and now, it looks like his short lived successor from the 90s is going to come after him! I love it when they remember the obscure characters... Was debating whether I should check this out or not. I'm a big fan of the Steve Gerber series. The new look of the character has kinda turned me off though. I suppose it was inevitable, now that every costume at Marvel has to look 'realistic' and, if possible, vaguely militaristic. Salinger at one point refers to his original outfit as "there I was, looking like Zorro's dandy cousin"...

Be of good cheer, for the results of this week's contest are in. Overflowing with holiday spirit is this week's winner Prince Hal, who found 4 votes under his tree. Definitely on the 'nice' list are Wesley Dodds, the4thpip, MW Gallaher, and tingramretro, with 3 votes each. Decking the halls with 2 votes is codystarbuck. And resting merry, with 1 vote apiece, are Farrar, mrp, Crimeuster and Bronze Age Brian. Damn-I thwarted myself by voting for the Prince! Foiled again!!

Yeah, I think in today's Marvel, when I writer says, 'hey, you know who I used to love, Unus? Whatever happened to him?' Bendis: Who Cares? Old timers love continuity! Bring'em back! The words 'Bendis' and 'continuity' do not belong in the same sentence, ever...

The N'Garai first appeared in a prose story in Haunt of Horror #4, and made their comics debut in Uncanny X-Men #96. They've since clashed with the X-Men several times, as well as Wolverine, the Hulk and Dr. Strange, amongst others. Now that you mentioned their name (though I may not be remembering if the Uncanny X-Men issue did or not) I checked the wikipedia page and I have several of their appearances. So I guess, I need to read my comics more. :-) I'll check them out when I get home. Most notably Incredible Hulk #308 which is one of my favorite of Mignola's cover during that run but forgot they were in it. Also my Marvel Premiere #7. But I will have to wait for that till Christmas as I left some of my Dr Strange books I was reading at Thanksgiving when at my father in law's. But that's where we are going for Christmas. Thanks for the memory jog. Edit: Wikipedia says this as well, but needs a citation. Anyone know if this reference and/or story exists in print? I think that's from Haunt of Horror (Vol II) #4, their first appearance.
