As I mentioned in the MST3K thread I recently watched the "Rifftrax: Star Wars Holiday Special". Now while I wouldn't actually recommend it to Star Wars fans there is one part of it that I thought was really cool. There's an animated segment that features the voices of all the original cast and the actual first appearance of Boba Fett.

One of my favorite Richard Pryor skits is of him working in the Star Wars Cantina.

It just seems like it because the rest of the Star Wars Holiday Special is so terrible.

I haven't seen that for ages... it reminds me of a bad imitation of Aeon Flux... even the plot, really.

Is it supposed to be canon?
In Return of the Jedi, Han does recognize the name "Bobba Fett" even if they weren't introduced before he was frozen in carbonite...
*shudder*

An awful lot of the rest of it is too, such as Chewbacca's family, the planet Kashyyyk (which was first named in the special), and the cocept of a Wookiee "Life Day". So yeah, I'd say that, all things considered, it is cannon. Which begs the uncomfortable question, do those Hippie survivors and purveyors of excruciating Adult Orientated Rock, Jefferson Starship, exist in the Star Wars universe? Give me Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes or the Max Rebo Band any ol' day of the week!

Walt Simonson posted this on facebook, he wasn't sure if it was a real or a fan mock up, but he didn't care he loved it so much...a decidedly different take on Star Wars... My wife showed me this and I got a kick out of it too, so I am inflicting it on you folks... -M

I've seen those before, but they are great. I've also just noticed that the cover price on each book changes from 77¢, 80¢ and 83¢, corresponding with the year of each film's release.

At first glance, I thought that title was "The Purloined Pants".
