I've been loving this fan comic lately, the art is amazing and the slice of life kind of stories are fun I do wonder how long this'll stay up as Disney Lucas has been pretty hardcore about defending their IP in the past. Impressive. Most Impressive. someone tell Marvel to sign that guy!

Impressive. Most Impressive. someone tell Marvel to sign that guy! Yeah, I've really been loving the comic strip. The art's definitely the main draw but the little stories are fun too.

Read the Tarkin book (getting ready to watch Rebels)... turns out I need to finish watching clone wars.. I didn't realize he was in so many episodes.. I think I stopped too soon. Good book, not the best, but passable. It's tells a good origin story, and I really liked the interplay between Tarkin and Vader.

Meanwhile, Rebels continues their journey towards Rogue One with their latest two-parter. Hera's team officially joins Mon Mothma's rebel group on Yavin 4. We see more of the philosophical differences between her group and Saw Guerra's forces as he (voiced by Forrest Whitaker) inadvertently gets Ezra, Sabin, and Chopper to help him raid a secret Imperial cargo run with direct connections to the Death Star project. They've seen certain pieces of the puzzle but have no clue as to what this puzzle is supposed to be other than some form of super weapon perhaps. Saw's growing fanaticism towards victory at any and all costs isn't helping either. He's convinced that unless they act decisively now, the Empire will win a war that Mon Mothma and the others believe has yet to start. Ezra may seem to agree with him (given his huge desire to free his home world Lothal) but upon seeing what Saw is willing to sacrifice, he may think twice about such measures. Drama, excitement, mystery, great action, I'm glad one facet of the SW universe still knows how to give fans this. I forgot this show had started its new season thanks for reminding me. Something to binge watch over the weekend. A few episodes in already and it's been excellent so far and the season starts with a pretty epic battle.

Idly browsing, I came upon this article on boingboing, about posters painted in Cold War Hungary for the original Star Wars trilogy. They look more Druillet than SW, but it's interesting to see a new take on the material.

Those posters are great.
I love the other worldliness of them. I’d love to see a whole story based on them.

I finished The Legends of Luke Skywalker. It was a fun read. I want concrete information though.

Star Wars painting by Bill Sienkewicz -M Gorgeous painting. This was the front cover of the ROTJ adaptation in Marvel Super Special magazine, Return of the Jedi Weekly #1 and also the 1983 British hardcover annual.

Saw Last Jedi this afternoon and liked it a lot. Still processing and not ready to comment, but came out with a really positive feel over it.

Saw one of my best friends this evening and he saw The Last Jedi yesterday and he and his 11-year-old son really didn't rate it. He said it was a 5 out of 10 SW movie. I'm not seeing it til Tuesday, myself, so I can't comment.

Last Jedi: has many good things within it and yet also lots of clumsy and "oof" moments. I have gotten rather tired of the required "do over moments" from the movies. Seen enough AT-AT's/Empire tributes now and can move on please. Too soon really to comment upon until seen it another time and processed and though over all that is shown (which is a lot) in this jam packed movie run time. Over all enjoyed it as a whole with plenty of "oh hell YES" moments to carry you through...
