So...
Comey says Loretta Lynch forced him to back off of Hillary probe, readily admits to being a spineless dickwad, and admits that Trump was never under investigation...
What happened, fellas?
I thought Trump was royally screwed?

This is obviously an issue that needs alot more investigation before we find out what the hell really was going on.. much like Watergate. I have no doubt that Trump told him to back off the investigation, wether he meant it as a joking comment (which would be insanely stupid, but not actionable, IMO) or a directive that he then fired Comey over when he didn't comply (which should most certainly result in impeachment) remains to be seen.

Comey came off as a total pushover. Oh, you're "scared" of being left alone with the President? He even readily admitted to acting in a "cowardly" manner on multiple occasions. That's just the kind of guy I want leading the FBI... His whole case against Trump, by his own testimony, is based on "hope". Well, hope in one hand and sh*t in the other...and see which one fills up first.

What kind of guy Comey is has absolutely no baring on anything. He was in the Justice Dept. for a long time through multiple administrations... I assume he was either good at his job ro good at politics to do so.
It's all about wether or not the sitting President told the FBI to look the other way while he committed fraud (possibly treason) or not. Push over or not, he also came off as sincere.

He came off as saying whatever he had to say to save his own ass, and essentially committed perjury in the process.

The Espionage Act clearly states that leaking information about a meeting with the President on national security matters is illegal.
And that's exactly what Comey did.
Comey also clearly admitted that Lynch told him to downplay Clinton's emails. THAT'S obstruction of justice (during a wide open FBI investigation). Even CNN of all news sources hunkered down on that one.

"Trump shares more strategic goals with ISIS than he does with the Mayor of London." I can believe that. He wants us to be afraid. And having heard Theresa May say that if civil rights laws need to be changed in order to combat extremism, they will, I am afraid. But not of Islamic terrorists. Apparently she thinks cracking down on porn on the Internet is vital to the fight against terrorism. I'm a lot more concerned about the people who use fear of terrorism as an excuse to crap all over everybody, than I am about terrorism.

I still don't care about the Clinton e-mail thing, plenty of worse things to focus on when it comes to the Clintons.

Bye bye Teresa Not gone yet, but purely a matter of time after her baldly-political decision to run an unnecessary election has blown up in her face.

So... Comey says Loretta Lynch forced him to back off of Hillary probe, readily admits to being a spineless d*****, and admits that Trump was never under investigation... What happened, fellas? I thought Trump was royally screwed? Nah, not a chance. All this shows, once again, is that Trump and his White House staff are lying liars who lie all the time and that Trump acts as if being president was the same as being a king or a mafia don. Ordinary rules are not supposed to apply to him. But we knew that already, and Congress seems to be fine with it, so nothing will happen to Trump. He will doubtless soon tweet about his great victory and vindication and demand that Comey be tried for treason, high crimes and misdemeanors, as per his usual crazy modus operandi, not realizing how bad he looks right now. The best we can hope is that enough voters are fed up with this kafkaesque government when the mid-term elections come, as well as in 2020. Lie after lie, scandal after scandal, Trump is damaging his image even to many of his devoted fans. His approval rate is very low, and since he didn't even win the popular vote the first time around, there's no reason for things to spontaneously get better for him... or for the party that backs him. *Edit* Wow, it didn't take long.It would make a great subject for a high school philosophy class. If you reveal things that never happened, can it still be considered a leak? And if the reported facts are true, how can you declare victory for being revealed as committing an illegal act? "I am not a crook". "I did not sleep with that woman". "The president is not a liar".

Bye bye Teresa Not gone yet, but purely a matter of time after her baldly-political decision to run an unnecessary election has blown up in her face. Except that having called and lost an unnecessary election, and despite the fact that many in her own party want her to resign, she has now announced her intention to form a minority Conservative government with the backing of the Democratic Unionist Party, saying they are "clearly" the only ones "legitimately" in a position to do so, and to continue doing everything she said she intended to do before the election, including giving more powers to the police and intelligence services to "combat extremism". Anybody got a contact number for that weirdo in the Guy Fawkes mask? I think we might need him...

EDIT: You know what, never mind. I'm not going to waste my time. People will rationalize anything they want to be rationalized.

Yesterday was supposed to cast a giant cloud over Trump...and all it ended up doing was showing just how corrupt and inept people like Comey and Lynch are.
