It's a necessary evil. Without fans, there would be no comics, shows, etc.
Out of control fans suck.

Fans of pretty much anything suck the fun out of it. Basically fans suck. There, I said it! this is often true. sadly often also true of political pundits, whom also have 'their fans'. though i'd ad one thing: at least in comics, if you've MADE THEM, for PAY, you at least have great fans ranging down to the 'nadir' of fan culture. unlike most other careers.

They might be referred to as artificial intelligences, but the algorithms that analyze my internet searches and target me for stuff that's expected to interest me barely qualify for synthetic stupidity. Yes, I looked at the price of a pair of shoes a few months ago and compared models... and then I bought a pair of shoes. I'm fine for a couple of years! Stop bombarding me with ads for shoes! I'm not a shoe fetishist or anything! Yes, I watched a Game of Thrones trailer. I look forward to watching next season on DVD, sometimes next Winter. Stop bombarding me with Youtube commentaries where nerds complain that Brienne's teeth aren't big enough on TV! I don't care!Yes, I shopped for a yukata for my wife's birthday. Stop bombarding me with images of barely pubescent Japanese girls in lingerie! You'll get me in trouble! There! I said it. For some reason another site I go to one of the ads in consistently match.com .... like why? Also, I got my wife a cheongsam some years back. The Japanese and Chinese have some beautiful women's clothing. Edit: There I said it. (But what honestly don't I like about women?) Nothing.

I'm in Disneyland and in my Hotel Room waiting for my friend to show up for lunch and decided to chit-chat with you today and having a swell time here. I'll be back home tomorrow night taking a night owl flight and resume with you on Friday and off for three days trip to Vancouver B.C. with more friends and all that.
After lunch, we'll be heading to the Small World Ride and go on it twice and then Splash Mountain afterwards and stop for refreshments after that ... lines are pretty reasonable and it's pretty moderate so far.
I just heard the knock on the door and got to go ... See all of you on Friday!

I'm getting a definite old-time CBR feel here of late. And not in a good way.

I can't speak for Slam's reason, but I can feel it to. Something is starting to permeate lots of threads, and it's what started with CBR going down the road it went.

Every time someone updates the "Favorite quotes from any medium" thread with a quote from a famous person, I get the urge to reply, "I didn't know {famous person} was a medium!"
There, I said it.
