If I could live in any fictional universe it would Riverdale from Archie Comics
If this were a Twilight Zone episode, you'd have your wish granted, then wake up, look in the mirror, and find that you're Mr. Weatherbee or Miss Grundy.
Although, for all I know, Miss Grundy might be an attractive 30-something teacher in the new tv version, like Aunt May in the Spider-Man movie.

I absolutely Love and Rockets.
No, wait, that didn't come out right. What I meant to say was, I absolutely love Love and Rockets rockets.
There, that's better - what, no! That's not right either! OK, I can do this. Let's see ... I know, how about this: The comics series Love and Rockets, I absolutely love.
And rockets.

I absolutely love....finding a 15c-25c cover comic in excellent shape and giving it a new home, even if it's not a regular title in the collection.
Picking up a Sgt Fury here, a Sgt Fury over there builds up and now I'm up to 40, all pre 1975.

Part of what makes Archie great is the characters (with minor tweaks) essentially remain the same over decades. It doesn't matter what year a story comes from as they ALL remain true to the heart and core of the teen spirit. You or anyone can pick up an issue to instantly connect or understand . I was thinking this week--don't remember why-- that it would probably be in the interest of Marvel and DC to each month have at least one book on the stands featuring flagship characters--Spidey, Hulk, Supes, Bats, WW--that anyone can pick up and read a story that conforms with the popular image of the character. The big two try this every few years, and unfortunately, usually fall into the trap of making it what THEY feel is " kid friendly" which usually means an overly simplified cartoony art style with clunky childish writing. Probably the best version of making them accessible and doing it right, is the Marvel Adventures comics from about 15-20 years ago... where they took Stan Lee stories, rewrote them for a modern audience, and recreated the artwork in a modern style, with modern coloring. Some of them also reprinted more recent stories, like X-Men first Class. Also, they had Jeff Parker writing some of the new stories for the Avengers, etc. and they were wonderful. I loved them just as much as my kids. AND they sold them in Target, in a slightly larger format, on tougher paper, and branded them "Marvel Age". Across the board, the stories were exciting, dangerous, and looked "adult" not "kiddie". After all, that's what appealed to US as kids, stories that didn't talk down to us, but rather seemed "adultish" to the average kid.

Uh, yeah, she was. And in the first episode, she did it with Archie in her car. Yeah, it would be the perfect Monkey's Paw ending to find out you were in the TV Riverdale, not the classic comics Riverdale. The TV show makes Riverdale out to be a den of iniquity with very high mortality rates.

That's the thing--when they do this, it's often not the "real" characters, but another version. Even something like Batman Black & White as @mrp mentioned, is an offshoot. A casual reader isn't going to look for that if there's another book just called "Batman."

For clarification... It would be the Riverdale in classic comics not the horror comics or the TV show.

Like with Afterlife with Archie, it really pointed out the brilliance of using these established, archetypical characters whom you INSTANTLY know. As the season progressed, it held up well, but got more and more grim and sexed-up, but mostly stuck to the murder mystery storyline. Subsequent seasons have gone completely off the rails, with RPG cults, serial killers, drug-dealing-gangs, ghosts, mob bosses, murder, arson, vigilante justice, Archie doing prison time, Archie being mauled by a bear, a speakeasy, and boxing. That's not even counting the last season, which I have escaped having to watch, since my wife lost interest. As with all CW shows (except for Stargirl), it has devolved into insanity.

I don't know about the other CW shows, but you're spot on about Riverdale. The show should really have known when to stop!

I should have known that even L'il Jinx was not above being fed into the "Ain't We Clever?" Machine.
I just hope Pop's Chocklit Shoppe hasn't been turned into Pop's Progressive Pizza Shoppe with a system of tunnels in the cellar.
