Another Hoopla borrow, I read Deadly Class Vol. 1 Reagan Youth by Rick Remender and Wes Craig. I read #1 when it came out and was on the fence, but really got into the story in the first volume. It was a little slow to get set up, hence me being on the fence last time, but once it does, it kicks into high gear and doesn't quit. Set in the late 80's I set Maazon music to play an 80s soundtrack as I read it, creating a different reading experience as well. God, the Luddite is streaming music and reading a digital copy of a trade paperback on his laptop at the same time, what is the world coming to? -M I did a similar thing, but with Spotify. I'm two volumes in so far and really enjoying it.

Read volume 4 of Sex Criminals (and I really need to reread the first 3 because I had trouble remembering some of the sideplots). I need to get this when I can. A re-read probably wouldn't hurt for me, either. Me no remember good. Also read volume 7 of East of West and that keeps on trucking along nicely. I'm collecting the OHCs of this, so it's going to be a long wait for me.

I just finished reading All Star Superman # 1-12. This series is one of the modern day classics. Just a masterpiece. Quitely never disappoints with his layouts which provide so much visual yumminess. Just to scan across his pages adds so much to the story. That's one of my favourite comics of all time. I shelled out for the Absolute Edition, and it's worth every cent to see that gorgeous art in all its glory.

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen From Hell -M Watchmen. How a movie could use the comic practically as storyboards, yet still miss the entire point of the story, is beyond me. Yet Zack Snyder managed to do it.

I grew up reading mostly DC characters. If you'd told me when I was a kid that there was going to be a movie with Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, I'd have lost my mind. If you'd gone on to tell me that I wouldn't even bother going to see it at the cinema, I'd have thought you'd lost yours.

I got the first three issues of Doom Patrol and the first issue of Cave Carson for a buck each on Comixology a while back. I liked them enough to definitely want to read more, when the price is right.

I've really been enjoying the latest Hulk series (on Unlimited, so I'm only four issues in so far). It's about Jen Walters dealing with PTSD after seeing her cousin (you know the one - scientist, anger issues) killed during Civil War II. So far we haven't seen her She-Hulk out at all, but it's been a great read nonetheless.

I specifically addressed it with them and explained that in about a year I'll be done cataloguing and grading them. It was all right with them. Not sure, but it might come down to your agent. Thanks for this info. When we bought our new house four years ago, I tried to do it for my collection, but the company we use for insurance wouldn't issue a policy. However, I find it odd about them saying collectibles need to be appraised/valued at cover price. My father has an extensive stamp collection, which he has specifically insured, but it would be pointless to do that if he were only getting a couple of pennies per stamp even though some are worth 100s of dollars; likewise for coins, I would think. More likely, these folks don't believe a comic could have any real value or that anyone would want to insure kiddie books, or that they just don't want to deal with it. Strange, because that's apparently the only thing people know about comics these days - the old ones are worth a ton of money! (even when they're not).

Was he aware of your particular circumstances when he said this? Not trying to make excuses, just wondering. Yes, he was, which made his arrogance all the more obnoxious.

Well, there was the time back in the early days of CBR when Peter David informed me that he had a much better grasp of the psychology of the physically handicapped than I did (I had dared suggest that Aquaman's reaction to losing his hand was unrealistic). That was a fun exchange. Cei-U! I open the old wound! Was he aware of your particular circumstances when he said this? Not trying to make excuses, just wondering.
