The titles are done so well why mess with them by making them "edgier". Hopefully it won't be one of the major characters that die. I have faith enough in Waid that I think this will be handled well and not something that is there just for shock effect or to be edgier.
I do wonder who its going to be do. At first I thought it was going to be a fake out and just be Archie´s car that would be totalled, but I doubt that is it.

^ Love Batman from that era....dark and gloomy covers that really capture the mood. The 'Tec ish is a great batmobile cover! And I have always wanted to get some of those Frankenstein books. The covers look great. Awesome buys! Subjectively speaking, I love Marvel's 1970s Frankenstein series! Bronze Age Bonkers! The first six issues or so are a very loose re-telling of the book. It's set in the 1890s and some intrepid adventurers have dug the monster out of the Arctic ice, so the events of the novel are related by the captain of the ship and then after they release the monster, he tells his side of the story. Mike Ploog art! Then he wanders around the 1890s for a while, including a run-in with the last of the Frankensteins and then a multi-part adventure with Dracula! Then the setting moves to modern-day (1970s) and the series goes completely off the rails! It's nuts! I have every issue up to #10, but only half of the remaining 8 issues. This has been a long-term project as I bought the first six issues in the late 1970s when they were only a few years old. I got them for 50 cents each. Objectively, I think most comic book fans probably consider the series to be a bit of a mess. Especially after the initial six issues. But I like it!
I recently read most of this stuff in collected edition and I must say I am one of those that really did not enjoy much after it moved to modern day. It was mostly very enjoyable before that but the later issues just felt lacking in some way.

This might just be pride talking, Lego being Danish and all that, but having myself had a bunch of sets over the years and having bought a whole lot more for younger siblings, cousins and nephews I have yet to notice any real problems with missing pieces. Espescially not with Dublo since they are so big. Have you experienced problems with it Prince Hal? (I think Hal was just providing an excuse for Slam to play with the Lego sets...) That is not okay! You don't play with a kid´s Lego!
You buy your own instead!

Well the reason is that I have heard people say stuff like this before and I have yet to experience it myself.

Just ordered this... And this... For the Grand-kidlets third birthday. It'll be a pain in the tail, but you'd better assemble that Lego kit to make sure all the pieces are there. Don't want the kids to be disapppointed. Buying Goals - Make a dent in my Sandman Mystery Theatre collection(Missing about 20 issues)I Likely am going to try and buy collected editions for some of these or digital issues because I want to finish reading this. Although I am planning to buy the single issues to. - Continue to look for The Spirit kitchen Sink issues. - Buy more collected editions of Spider-man Materials to replace single issues for more recent stuff. - Start to collect single issue of Marvels ROM series. - Continue to buy the FLASH by Mark Waid collected edtions.
Reading Goals - Re-read The complete Calvin and Hobbes - Re-read Marvels Transformers series. - Re-read Strangers in paradise - Read my entire back log of physical and digital comics. -Re-read "Valhalla" (Danish comicbook about the norse gods. In tone and such somewhat of the European tradition of stuff like Astrerix) I will likely add more for this list before the end of the month.
So its almost the end of March and I thought it might be time to do a status. Unfortunately I have not really done any progress except I have bought quite a few collected editions of Spider-man to replace single issues. While its not exactly great material I am replacing all my clone saga era issues with the collected editions instead. Despite all the problems with them I still get some enjoyment from them because they were really the first period I started reading any superhero comic on a monthly basis. I am hoping to start my Rom collection in the near future thanks to some money back in taxes. I am scouting Ebay to look for some hauls because there doenst really seem to be any way for me to get it otherwise without being killed on shipping.

This week I bought and read don rosa library books 4+5 which mainly consists of the life and times of scrouge mcduck. This has been some of the most enjoyment I have gotten from comics in some time. I read these comics back in the early 90s as a child. Actually thats not quite true I looked at the pictures at first because when these came out I actually didnt know how to read at first, just looked at the pictures. For those who dont know Donald duck related comics is one of the major comicbooks here in Denmark, and the only one who has come out consistently for over 60 years. Highly enjoyable. I read vol. 4 a few weeks ago.. great stuff. Don Rosa's commentary in those is pretty great too. I'll definitely continue to get them as they come out (Waiting for the slipcase versions, though) They really are great. I was only going to buy these two, but I think I might end up buying more of them now. On a different note number 4 actually did come in a box with 3, but the owner of my local store knew I only really wanted to read 4+5 so he opened up that box and sold me it individualy. He is a good guy. The funny thing for me is also reading just how many of these stories actually first appeared the way I read them in the 90s: In Anders And og Co (Donald duck weekly). Not just the first way in Denmark, but actually the first way in the world. Between this and the current Darkwing Duck series coming out I am enjoying duck comics a whole lot again.

Has anyone here played Stardew Valley? I am considering playing it since people describe it as a mix between Harvest Moon with some oldschool Zelda like elements. Both of which I use to play a lot back in the day. The animation style is like those older games to which really appeals to me to.

In regards to my earlier statement about education/taxes etc. then I hope everyone got that while I like the way we have it here in Denmark I also completely understand why you cant just take our model and apply in to a country that is so much bigger and structured differently like the US is. Denmark with its less then 6 million citizens is a country very different and in many ways a lot easier to control these things in because of that. There is one thing I do want to note however and that is the "why should I pay for someone to get XXX education". Well I understand the point, but I see it differently. We pay high taxes so everyone has the chance to get an education they want, if they have the grades for it, and if someone cant find a job well then they have to work a less fun job as a result or be unemployed and get sent out in jobs that the country decides or finds for them. Everyone here gets the chance to get an education and the jobs for someone who has no education at all is pretty much only a few jobs in stuff like factories, shops or something like that. I have a masters degree in English and rhetoric and yes I got SU from the government for 5 years while I got it. But I will spend the next 40+ paying my taxes and "paying it back" so to speak. In addition to the part time job I did work while going to college. Not having to pay for school means the opportunity for people to break a bad family legacy because they can afford to go to college. If a education really is "worthless" then they shouldn't get funding from the state to begin with.
That's just my view.

I usually don't post much in this thread because I am not American and much of what is discussed here is just that: American politics. However, since I am both a teacher and live in a country where education is not only free but students are actually payed to study I feel like I can add something here. In Denmark we have a social structure that is very different from America, especially when it comes to the school systems. Here everyone goes to ordinary same type of school for the first 9 or 10 grades. Afterwards students have to choose either an technical education, carpenter, mechanic, electricians etc. or a type of high school education. Because of that shift happening earlier on it changes a lot how many people chooses different kinds of education. When you are 18 or above you can get SU (money from the government) where the amount of money you get is based on your parents income if you live at home. This applies to high schools and education types beyond that. Students on technical schools can also get that, but after their first year there they apply for internships where they get money from there workplace because they perform actual work. In general it works. And I do believe its a big part of why we are usually voted as one of the happiest countries in the world every year. Yes it also means we have one of the highest tax rates in the world but that's the price you pay, and personally I am quite happy to pay that. But I realize that something like this can not just be brought over and adapted for use in America today without creating a lot of problems. But maybe some of this could help a lot of Americans.

My colleague and I recently started playing Boarderlands 2 again. Still a darn great game. I am playing as a siren, a character I have not really played before, and it is taking some practice getting use to but great fun.

As someone who started reading Spider-man monthly at this point I have very good memories of this even if most of it was quite frankly terrible. There are some highlights but darn it there are some extreme low points to. I never read the mid-90's Spidey-Clone Saga... as someone who did read it - knowing that I was a Spider-Man fan - told me it would spoil my enjoyment of Spidey, and it was "f***ing awful". So I heeded their advice. There was also too many Spider-Man titles to keep up with at that time, amogst other things in life. So I never got around to reading it. However, I have never felt that I missed out on anything by not reading them! I do think there are things there to enjoy but some of it is bad yes. Personally I liked Ben Reilly a lot, especially his costume. The whole idea of sending Peter of as a married man with a kid on the way working in a lab and letting Ben be Spidey is still something I think could have worked and I would have enjoyed.
