Buying Goals - Make a dent in my Sandman Mystery Theatre collection(Missing about 20 issues)I Likely am going to try and buy collected editions for some of these or digital issues because I want to finish reading this. Although I am planning to buy the single issues to. - Continue to look for The Spirit kitchen Sink issues. - Buy more collected editions of Spider-man Materials to replace single issues for more recent stuff. - Start to collect single issue of Marvels ROM series. - Continue to buy the FLASH by Mark Waid collected edtions.
Reading Goals - Re-read The complete Calvin and Hobbes - Re-read Marvels Transformers series. - Re-read Strangers in paradise - Read my entire back log of physical and digital comics. -Re-read "Valhalla" (Danish comicbook about the norse gods. In tone and such somewhat of the European tradition of stuff like Astrerix) I will likely add more for this list before the end of the month.
So status after first month: ´Buying: I have not really done much here. I have bought and pre ordered the latest Spider-man Epic collections and Waid Flash but that is pretty much it. I am going to be scouting ebay for the next few weeks to try and get a Spirit or ROM haul but so far not much.
Reading: I am re-reading through Calvin and Hobbes. about 1/4 the way. Its just as good as I remember. Other then that I have made huge dent in reading all my physical issues and really only have the new 52 flash omnibus left to finish. Digital reading is a little different in that I will go some time with out reading much and then when going on a long train trip I will finish a whole bunch in one go.
How is everybody else doing?

I am sorry for your loss to bert.
I think we all understand its going to be hard for you to focus on loosing weight right now and I am sure most of us would feel the same in your shoes.
When it comes to walking I have always liked this quote by Søren Kirkegaard: “Above all, do not lose your desire to walk. Everyday, I walk myself into a state of well-being & walk away from every illness. I have walked myself into my best thoughts, and I know of no thought so burdensome that one cannot walk away from it. But by sitting still, & the more one sits still, the closer one comes to feeling ill. Thus if one just keeps on walking, everything will be all right.”
I know walking does not remove the pain of loosing a loved one and I am by no means trying to downplay that, but being active even if its not as much as usual does usually help me atleast. The best way to honour those we loved and have lost is by going on living our lives. A 45 minutes walk is still a 45 minutes walk. Don't forget that.
I am sorry If I am coming of as idiot or jerk or something here.

I lifted weights this morning for the first time in over a month. The Christmas season had me working 10-12 hours a day and I finally have time to start over. Guys, let's sound off . @simongarth , @bert , @mechagodzilla , shaxper , bor .
I have been working out 2-3 times a week and lost some weight, although I think a lot of that so far is mainly not eating sugar/Christmas stuff. Having gotten my new teaching schedule this week means that I can plan ahead now for when I am going to work out which is great.

I have been following all the news regarding the new Nintendo Switch and I must say that so far I am somewhat sceptic towards it. The price so far seems to high for my taste here in Denmark. So far its on most Danish Websites for 2795 Danish Kroner without any games, compared to something like an Xbox One S which is only about 1800 with a game. I am sure the Switch is fun but that much more for then an Xbox one S? I doubt it. On top of that the only game I really wants to play the first few months is Zelda. I am likely going to buy it, but it seems likely so far I wont for quite some time.

Here goes nothing! This is my first public posting using the speech recognition software on my computer. I finally bought a microphone, which is now properly installed, leaving me no more excuses for making a change I should have made long ago but was too damn stubborn to make without being forced. In that sense, my dental woes may turn out to be a blessing in disguise. It hasn't been easy the last few weeks staying off the computer, not being able to either work or play. I'm the kind of guy who has to feel productive on a daily basis. At any rate, I can get back to work on my book projects now so that's least one source of stress in my life gone. Anyway, I just wanted to drop by and let you guys know I was up and functioning again. Sometime in the next few days, I will work out the statistics and get the wrap up for Classic Comics Christmas 2016 posted. Cei-U! I summon the lightning… out loud! Hey Cei-U! I know we have never really interacted much but I wanted to tell you that I have always enjoyed your posts both here and before on CBR so its great to see you being able to write again on a more consistent basis.

I recently finished "The Flash by Mark Waid" book one. I really loved it and cant wait for the next one to come out. I have read parts of this rum before but never all of it or from start to finish so its the first time I am going to read several of these stories. Highly enjoyable.

I have decided to only look at my weight once every other week. But so far its going well. I worked out 3 times last week and one time so far this week. I would have gone one more time this week but because of some last minut change in work, where I had to go to another city to be a censor at an exam with only a days notice, I was not able to. Eating wise its going well to.

Is strangers in paradise taken? It is technicaly more then one volume so I dont know if that counts or not. Any and all of it is fair game. Just specify which volumes/issues you'd include. Strangers in paradise: vol 1: 1-3 vol 2: 1-13 vol3: 1-90 I think thats the whole thing so 106 issues in total. Although I only have some of the issues in single issues, and the whole thing in collected editions, the issues themselves are awesome because of bonus like letterpages. A great series.

I'm thinking about just doing this so I can retire at 50 and live in a big mansion: I feel like they want to steal my soul. Or maybe bake it in a pie.

I finished the campaign on Doom 2016. MAN, that is a fun game. If you like single player first-person shooters, it doesn't get much better than this. Yeah I felt the exact same way when I finished it a couple of months ago. It really is a lot of fun.

I got wine, beer, and a "learn Norwegian in 90 days" book. Pretty cool! Now I can be a drunk Viking like I always wanted! Its likely not going to be the easiest language to learn. Danish and Norwegian are extremely similiar, like 90-95% or something like that so I do speak/understand it mostly. It doesnt hurt either that my stepbrother is married to a Norwegian and my stepsiter is engaged to one, but even so it becomes difficult sometimes to understand them, espescially after 7-8 shots of snaps.

Christmas is always the big gift time a year for me, often even more so then for others because my birthday is coming up to, December 28th, so I often get both at the same time or close to it from relatives that will have gone home by that day. Mostly I got a lot of non comic or pop culture related stuff, but I did get a nice Spidey coffee cup and some xbox gaming gear. Other then that mostly clothes and stuff like that + a few gift cards. I also got some scottish whiskey and a small glas barrel with a tap that is just big enough to have a bottle in it. Its pretty great to be able to quickly take a drink if you want to. Espescially when you have family and their pets staying with you for several days.

I'm seeing this first Punisher set from 1985 going for as high as $150 so my dealer acquired one below $40 in high grade and I nipped it as an extra. Glad to see Punisher getting some love in 2016, his new series started this year and #1 sold over 100,000 copies! I can't remember seeing that happen for previous volumes. Looks cool. The price rising is likely effected because of season 2 of Daredevil right?
