I am usually not crazy about retcons. But I dont generally dislike a lot of the characters people mentioned here. I really liked the Sentry. However I mainly liked him in his original mine series. There it really worked for me. Early new avengers was okay too although it did end up being a bit to much. Which I feel is often the case with retcons. In some cases it really works, like mrp mentioned with Cap and Bucky above, and in some cases we get stuff like the whole complicated mesh with Jean Grey.

I have enjoyed Laura as the wolverine. Her clone sister was fun and they have an actual wolverine as a pet. Thor has been great for years under Aaron. Ms. marvel is good. I really enjoyed the Vision series that came out recently.

Gah. If Xavier's brain was still functional, why didn't they just bring Charles back? It's not as if he hadn't been cloned before. It wasn't that simple. The Skull had half of Xavier's brain grafted to his own. His personality was gone, the Skull just had the part that gave him his powers. It was removed from him by Beast, who can now apparently perform brain surgery and build time machines despite being a biochemist. Yeah Beast, like most of the big brains in the Marvel universe, has really become a general expert in most science fields insted of having a focus in recent years.

Have you guys seen the news that Secret of Mana is being remade on the PS4? Here is some sample gameplay footage: Seems to be that the remake looks like a game that could be played on the phone or Nintendo DS. So it's not going to be a remake like Final Fantasy VII. Still, it looks fun to me and I'm going to add it to the list of games I want to play down the road. I loved the original. It makes no sense that this is coming to PS4 and Vita and not the Switch. I might get the Steam version, but I'd rather get the Mana collection if it ever comes west. That is strange but for someone like me who loves his Vita this looks like a perfect game to add to my game library on it.

Too bad you feel this way. I love this series and to me its among the top Spidey series/runs of all time. Its different from the original one but great in its own way. The MJ/Peter relationship is much different and much more the girl next door kind of thing but I here I like it. I forgot to mention how slow it was. The first issue is 40 pages and at the end, Peter has only just figured out that his fingers are sticky and he can hang from the ceiling. If you like it, that's fine. But I kept scrolling to the next page, thinking "How long is this? Does it ever end?" I also thought Harry Osborne was very badly written. You are completely right its a lot slower and a lot more decombressed. Bit I actually like that. Forinstance Uncle Ben feels much more like an actual character because he sticks around for a couple of issues. I even like the fact it takes about 5/6 issues before he starts acting as a hero. And while I love classic Aunt May its nice to see a version that actually feels more "real" both age and behaviour wise. Without spoiling it too much for people who might want to read it at some point but there are quite a lot of things I like about the Ultimate version. Gwen Stacy is really different but offers a version that I really enjoy too, likewise the art is consistenly good for majority of the run. Dont get me wrong I would not want this instead of the Ditko/Lee run, but for an alternative world comics it works for me. But it is different and if your taste is more to silver or bronze age where there is more bang for your buck pr. issue then I can see why this would not appeal to you.

I'm not sure I've ever read a comic book with a more misleading title. My niece has becomes a major Spider-Man fanatic since the movies came out and she decided to go online and read the comic book! Yay! But she somehow got sidetracked to the 2000 series Ultimate Spider-Man. Boo! (She has been binge reading and she will probably be finished with the 130-some issues in a week or so. She says when she's done, she's going to read the REAL Spider-Man. I let her borrow my beat-up copy of Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 so she'll know what art style to look for.) I decided to have an open mind and read Ultimete Spider-Man #1 and, if it wasn't awful, I'd keep reading. It was pretty awful. When you open the book, the first thing you see is Norman Osborne and he seems to be personally irradiating the spider that is going to bite Peter a few pages hence. That's right, the facility that is hosting Midtown High's field trip is owned by Norman Osborne and he is personally involved with experiments where spiders are subjected to raciation and one of them gets loose and bites Peter Parker. And then Osborne is on just about every page because he's worried about being sued and he sends someone to spy on Peter and then he tries to have Peter killed. I really hate the way that Norman Osborne has taken over the Spider-Universe. I won't even read Spider-Man comics any more just because I might have to come across a Norman Osborne appearance. So a comic book where his presence is on every page is a hard-sell for me. In this book, he's so awful and cynical and manipulative, he's really not even believable. The other major problem is how they handle Mary Jane. She's right there from the first, next to Peter when he gets bitten by the spider. So that means this is a Spideyverse where Amazing Spider-Man #42 can't happen, where Peter doesn't meet MJ after years of avoiding her and barely missing her and then finally discovering that Anna Watson's niece is a knockout! No. A Spideyverse where "You've hit the jackpot!" never happened is not "Ultimate Spider-Man." Too bad you feel this way. I love this series and to me its among the top Spidey series/runs of all time. Its different from the original one but great in its own way. The MJ/Peter relationship is much different and much more the girl next door kind of thing but I here I like it.

I thought the JLA/Avengers mini was massively overrated. Not bad per se, because it was enjoyable enough, but it lacked in the story department. Really, your level of interest in seeing Superman face off against Thor or similar will have a big bearing on how much you enjoy the mini-series. Myself, I find big superhero fights a bit boring, so I was probably hoping for a bit more meat to the tale in order to hold my interest. Some of the dialogue is excruciating as well. Definitely not Kurt Buseik's finest moment. I get what you mean but I really enjoyed the story. For what it is I think it is very well done. With that many characters involved I think it was never going to be a story heavy series. Even so I thought it had some well done moments besides the fights, like Barry and Hal, both dead at the time, interacting with the other characters and all that.

So, in other words you are saying "NO" with Marvel & DC?? Um, duh, this is what SUCKS for me! Well thats fine, but that still does not change my point. If your only or main read is marvel or dc then yes that will be a problem for you but if you enjoy other publisher or comics then you can do exactly what you are asking for. I just wanted to make that clear. For someone like me who buys mainly non big two when it comes to new comics, mostly at 0,99$ sales, its a fine enough deal.

I bought one digital Comic ( Batman #251, the Joker story). I only got it that way because it was too pricey to get the physical copy. Digital is great for reading, but not much else IMHO. I don't think you can "own" a digital copy of anything. That's funny because the only digital comic I purchased was also Batman #251. This was my test run and I did not purchase any other comics because you cannot download to your desktop or read offline... If I have no control I do not feel it is justified or worth spending my money on. I do however have a large collection of digital comics I obtained from torrent sites, but before you lecture me on piracy keep in mind that due to obtaining these digital copies it has inspired me to buy several hundred back issues and collected editions which I would't have done if it Weren't for digital making me want physical media as well. In fact before digital came along I had stopped collecting for close to 15 years. One thing: Just to make it clear you can download some publishers/series to your dektop and read it offline. Comics from the big two no, but if you buy various other publishers' comics, most promintly a lot from Image, from comixology you can.

I collect so few series in single issues so I rarely buy doubles. When it does happen its usually because I am buying a lot with several issues in it and some of them are issues I already have.

I have most of the Ultimate issues except for the Spidey's. Anxious to eventually get them as I heard Bendis was pretty good on this. The Ultimate line was the most Marvel I've purchased since 2000 and I liked almost all of them. Sorry to see the line go but at least some of it got woven into 616 (can I still call it that post-Secret Wars 2016 ?) In my opinion Spidey is the best and most consistent series from the ultimate line. And yeah Marvel atleast still calls it 616.

So I havent really checked my weight in a while but I did have something I wanted to share, Today I ran a 5 km run together with my collegues from work. It was pretty darn hard for my. Mostly on my back. I did it in an okay time but most of all it kind of showed me that I can do this kind of stuff. Although I will have to work more on training my back.

Marvels epic line should get there at some point. Thhe entire Lee/Ditko run is already out. Are you talking about these or the Omnibus? The latter usually have nice colours. but I haven't checked this one in particular. Are they flat, or four color? MW style flat colouring, really doesn't work for me on the material they reprint. Yeah thats the ones. I am not sure with colors. I can take some tomorrow if you want to but if you google them you can see how they look to.

Did anyone read Spider-Men II #1 which recently came out? Does it occur in the old Ultimate Universe? The solicit only says it answers “Who is Miles Morales’ counterpart in the Marvel 616 universe?” which seems irrelevant now that he's part of the main universe post-Secret Wars. I read it. No it takes place in 616 so far. All I will say so to not spoil a pretty new issue for people is that no it does not seem to be irrelevant.
