I'll spend my two bucks allowance on these in October 1965: Adventure Comics #339 Legion DC, 12 cents Avengers #23 Classic Kang cover Marvel, 12 cents Batman #176 80 Page Giant DC, 25 cents Bonanza #17 Gold Key, 12 cents Brave and the Bold #63 WW and Supergirl. Yes, I know it's a terrible story, but these are two of my favorite comic book characters, so I'll buy this. DC, 12 cents Doom Patrol #100 DC, 12 cents Fantastic Four #46 This FF issue is a sentimental favorite that brings back fond memories. We lived across the street from a church and one cold winter day I bought FF #46 as a back issue and then met my friends as we assembled on the church's steps (our usual hangout). I remember sitting on those church steps, chatting and eating pizza with my friends...and reading this comic. The pizza really hit the spot on that frigidly cold grey day...and so did that FF #46 comic. Marvel, 12 cents Green Lantern #41 Star Sapphire! DC, 12 cents Jimmy Olsen #89 Can't pass up Jimmy as a wanna-be U.N.C.L.E. agent. And as usual, what a great Swan-Klein cover! DC, 12 cents Marvel Collectors' Item Classics #1 I always loved those "postcard" covers on MCIC. Marvel, 25 cents Metal Men #17 Doc Magnus is getting hitched? Oh, poor Tina! DC, 12 cents Wendy Witch World #16 Harvey, 25 cents Woody Woodpecker #88 Yes, I realize it's only October and this is a Christmas cover (to sync with the December cover date) but whatever--I'm a Woody fan and this is such a sweet, adorable cover. Gold Key, 12 cents 10 @12 cents = 1.20 3 Giants = 75 cents Total: $1.95 I'll spend the nickel--on you guessed it--some candy. This Sky Bar looks good.

Saturday morning cartoon: "Sonic the Hedgehog", known to its viewers/fans as " Sonic SatAM due to its Saturday morning time slot." The Sonic SatAM cartoon show ran from 1993-1995. Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog #9 (1994). Eat your hearts out Barry Allen and Jay Garrick

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it but Bud Harrelson shortstop for the 1969 WS champ New York Mets, passed away at 79 from advanced Alzheimers. I was very sorry to hear this earlier today. RIP Mr. Harrelson. I loved watching him play ss, even if back then I didn't appreciate just how good he was at that difficult position. And he was a favorite player of at least a couple of good friends of mine, so every time he made a good-to-great play in a game--which was often--I heard all about it from them

Man, it's sure tough to pass up that Jim Taylor feature in SPORT magazine --but in September 1965 I'll spend my $2 on these: Action #330 DC, 12 cents Adventure #338 I love that my favorite Legionnaire, Light Lass, is on the cover DC, 12 cents Aquaman #24 Got to have this one. I've posted about this issue many times here at CCF; I love DC's answer to the Fantastic Four (minus one), namely the "Terrible Trio" comprising the flame-haired Karla, the Invisible Un-thing, and the Fisherman with his stretchy fishing line. Great Cardy cover. DC, 12 cents Avengers #22 Marvel, 12 cents Doom Patrol #99 DC, 12 cents Falling In Love #79 What a cover by Cardy! DC, 12 cents Fantastic Four #45 Marvel, 12 cents The Great Race #1 I've seen this movie many times as it was frequently shown on TV, IIRC on channels 7 and/or channel 9. Oh, just one more thing -- why isn't my favorite actor from that film, Peter Falk, on the cover?! But I'll still buy this anyway. Dell, 12 cents Justice League of America #39 A giant issue? Yes, please! DC, 25 cents Lois Lane #61 DC, 12 cents Showcase #59 Another Cardy cover! This is a must-buy. DC, 12 cents Tales to Astonish #74 Gene Colan cover, and Dorma's one of my favorite Marvel characters. Marvel, 12 cents T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents #1 Who could resist this cover?! I sure can't. Tower, 25 cents Wonder Woman #158 DC, 12 cents 12 @ 12 cents = 1.44 2 @25 = .50 Total: $1.94Enough left over for a roll of my favorite flavor of Reed's, cinnamon. A Cardycopia, plus some other Sep. 1965 goodies.
