I have to say that I found it quite interesting that all of you were pronouncing Ka-Zar the same way I (and a buddy of mine) did back when we were kids (i.e., with the short 'a' sound) - which, of course, we all later learned was incorrect, as it's apparently supposed to be 'Kay-Zar'. Actually, according to X-Men #10, it's pronounced "Kay-Sar." Cei-U! I summon the Savage Land swinger!

Smoking in hospitals wasn't banned in the US until 1991(!), so I'm sure it was hunky-dory in '65 to smoke in a doctor's office. In fact, I can remember my mother and our family physician both lighting up during one of my frequent check-ups.

Does Hulk’s measurements change also when he is angry or just his strength? I don't think it was every portrayed that way. But when you write it.... In the Ang Lee movie, Hulk got larger the angrier he got. One of many reasons that flick blew chunks.

...and here are my picks for April '66:
Amazing Spider-Man #36 Avengers #27 Atom #24
Brave and the Bold #65 Daredevil #15 Detective Comics #350
Fantastic Four #50 Green Lantern #44 Hawkman #13
Sgt. Fury #29 Strange Tales #144 Tales of Suspense #77 Tales to Astonish #79 Thor #127 X-Men #19

What exactly made Night Nurse a nugget series from the bronze age? This isn't my set....I'd like it to be....but the price makes my eyes water. What made this one balloon? Don't get me wrong, I love a female character getting this respect in the back-issue market....but what made this series so popular compared to other bronze-age minis that are still quite affordable? I don't recall a MTU or MTIO featuring Night Nurse either.
It's probably due to one of its characters, Christine Palmer, appearing as the title hero's ex in the Doctor Strange movies. Seems like anything connected to the MCU gets its prices jacked up beyond its intrinsic value.
Cei-U! I hazard a guess!

I finished Kull the Conqueror and I was wondering whether Kull the Destroyer is worth reading. It depends. If you enjoyed the setting and premise of KtC, you may find KtD disappointed as it has Kull deposed as king of Valusia and turns him into just another wandering barbarian like Conan. On the other hand, it's Doug Moench and Mike Ploog so how bad can it be? Be warned that the plotline jumps from KtD #15 to the magazine Kull and the Barbarians #2-3 followed by Savage Sword of Conan #9 before returning to the uncancelled KtD with #16. I'm in the process of recollecting it all so you can safely say I liked it.

A friendly reminder of our community rules when it comes to pubic figures : (...) discuss others like their impressionable young son, daughter, niece, or nephew is reading, and definitely do not celebrate a person's tragedy or death, no matter who they were, what they did, or whether they'd gleefully say the same about you.Thank you. Yeah, my bad. I knew better and gave in to the impulse anyway. Sorry!

A great loss for comics, comix, and comics history. I enjoyed my few encounters with her both online and in person and she once emailed me to praise a letter I'd written to Comic Book Artist. I didn't know her but I felt like I did through her cartoons and other writing. She will be missed.

I've only read the Gold Key, Marvel, and DC versions so voting was a no-brainer: it's DC by a country mile.

That's too bad but I was going to have to bail today anyway. I have a friend coming to stay with me for a few days so my caregiver can have some much-needed time off and there's a buttload of things to do to get things ready for him.

I can & will watch M*A*S*H up till Henry Blake's death. I never liked Potter, BJ was a poor sub for Trapper John while Winchester was the best replacement for Frank. However, for me, Henry made the show, his comedic reactions and facial expressions in regards to whatever the gang at the Swamp were doing was priceless. His death still hits me hard every time I watch the episode especially given how it happens. I'm certain I'll be in a minority here ... but I thought every casting change the series made improved the show. I preferred Potter to Blake, BJ to Trapper John, and Winchester to Frank by a wide margin. I was also glad they got rid of Radar. If you are in a minority, at least it's not a minority of one. I also preferred Potter, BJ, and Charles over Henry, Trapper, and Frank. I liked Radar, though, and was sorry to see him go, but at least his departure made it possible for Klinger to become more than a one-joke character.

I just read Brave and the Bold #182 ... This issue hit the newsstand in late 1981, and is a great example of how a single issue back in the day could tell a complete impactful story. Brennert and Aparo are the creative team, and kudos to both for a lovely comic, I really enjoyed this. As I've often mentioned, Brave & Bold is my all-time favorite series and this issue is one of the reasons why. Absolutely superlative in both art (I loves me some Jim Aparo) and story (as is pretty much everything Alan Brennert touches) and an Earth-Two story to boot, it's like it was custom designed to appeal to me... and, boy howdy, does it!
