There's no surpeise or shame in feeling the loss of a family member or friend--or a public figure we have a connection to--more than we feel the loss of those who are basically abstractions from our emotional viewpoint. It's called "human nature," kids.

As I understand it, the matter comes down to whether there are distinct individual baddies joining forces. Two or three distinct family members with their own identities should work, whereas say The Beagle Boys would not. And they should be working together in some fashion. I suppose they could work together inadvertently/unknowingly so long as you can explain why that arrangement impressed you. Sorry. I don't presume to be Kurt, but I also know he's not up to his usual snuff right now, so I'm hoping to save him some work here. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !!!!! My rationale is they ARE all individually numbered thus distinguishing them from AIM/HYDRA goons This was also my rationale and is thus the correct answer.

When you're dating a comic book, do you use the cover date or the on-sale date? Is there a standard practice for this among comic book fans? One of the few quibbles I had with the American Comic Book Chronicles format when I first took the assignment to write the 1940-1944 volume is that the comics are referenced by cover date.. It quickly became apparent why this was done: there are hundreds of comics of the era for which no release dates are available, nor will they ever be. In my own work, however, I prefer to use the on sale date.

Well, so much for the "reliable" new caregiver. She's a no-show for the evening shift and I can't reach her by phone. Now my family is scrambling to get someone here to put me to bed. God DAMN it. Cei-U! Is some kind of sick of this S#!t... So, it turned out that Leano, my new caregiver, was a no-show as the result of an honest misunderstanding. She has been here on time ever since, and we've become quite fond of each other in just a few days. But the really good news is that my sister's back surgery went very well and, barring any new complications, she will be returning to work within a few weeks. We've decided, however, that she'll be sharing the job with someone else, possibly Leano, who will work the shorter evening shift and every other weekend. This should work out well for everybody.

I wouldn't want to read any of them, truthfully, but of the three, I'd find Superman n'52 least objectionable. The '70s Spider-Man was irredeemable dreck that completely missed the point of the character. Incredible Hulk was a better series but, again, bore so little resemblance to the source material they might as well have created a new character instead. Besides, we already had a Hulk '78 comic of sorts: the black-and-white HulK! magazine, which featured Banner on the run, ignored his comic book supporting cast, and pointedly steered away from any connection to the larger Marvel Universe. Aside from the occasional nice art job, it was deadly dull.

Hiya, kids. Just got home a few hours ago after spending two days lying on a gurney in a side hallway of Tacoma General Hospital's emergency ward. (It was Hallway 64, to be precise. I wanted to make jokes about "Hallway 64 Revisied" but I knew the young whippersnappers tending to me wouldn't get it.) I ended up at the ER because A) my COVID symptoms were worsening by the hour and B) there was nobody to take care of me who wasn't already sick or had loved ones at home with compromised immune systems who couldn't afford to catch this crap. That remained the situation until this afternoon when I contacted my DSHS caseworker and made arrangements for a substitute caregiver until such time as Kay can come back to work. If she can't... well, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. In the meantime, I'm functioning on about 3 hours' sleep over the last 72 houes and I'm on the verge of utter exhaustion so...

By the way, if it seems like I'm being a trifle glib about this ordealand its aftershocks, it's only because the news about cody's wife put it all back into its proper perspective.

Hiya, kids. I've just returned home fro 48 hours lying on a gurney in a side hallway of the Tacoma General Hospital emergency room. I couldn't be left home alone with my COVID symptoms worsening by the hour but there was nobody left to take care of me, everybody being either already sick or living with immuno-compromised family members who can't afford to catch this damned thing. The ER was the only viable option. But I've been in touch with my caseworker and we've arranged for a caregiver to fill inb for Kay until she knows her prognosis and the likelihood she can come back to work at all. This has taken a huge load of stress off of Kay, which is what mattered most to me. Now that she knows I'll be taken care of, she can focus on taking care of herself.

If I sound a trifle glib about these last few days and the subsequent seismic impact on my life, well, it's because my sense of perspective was restored after learning of cody's loss.

I am so very sorry for your loss, cody. I've been single most of my life so I can't begin to imagine what you're feeling. Take as long as you need. We aren't going anywhere. You're a valued member of our community irrespective of your level of participation. It sounds trite, I know, but we really are here for you in whatever capacity you need us. Take care.

The only EC material I can tolerate are Kurtzman's Frontline Combat ad Two-Fisted Tales. Everything else is, in my opinion, horrendously overwritten. What good does it do to hire great artists if they're forced to squeeze their drawings in between text-heavy captions and dialogue balloons? No thanks.

As if things aaren't f'ed up enough in my world just now, I'm 85% certain my brother, who has been filling in for my sister while she copes with her recent cancer diagnosis, gave me COVID. He and his wife, who works in a nursing home where the disease is running wild, both tested positive on Sunday. This morning I woke up with a headache, cough, sore throat, and muscle aaches. I hope I'm wrong--and I won't know for sure until I'm tested later today--but I'm pretty sure I'm right.
Damn it.

Just want to make sure of something, Cei-U! : given the loose way you're defining teams, I'm hoping what are basically one-off team-ups between two baddies are acceptable - asking because that applies to 3 in my tentative list (including one from an inter-company crossover). One-off team-ups are perfectly acceptable. (Good thing, too, because there are several on my list.)

Had Englehart got to finish his story, he would've revealed that Red skull used the Cosmic Cube to implant the Snap Wilson personsa way back in Cap #119 to give himself a psychological edge in any future confrontations with CA&F, so I don't hold that particular plotline against him.
