I'm thinking the first appearance of Barry Allen as the Flash in Showcase # 4 from 1956. Barry and Hal were disqualified upthread, but Clayface may be another answer.

Unfortunately, I followed the recommendation of shipping my books to ComicLink. But I have major home repairs to make and an engagement ring to buy, so I can't afford to cut prices too much. Ah, I see the problem now. I've never sent books to ComicLink ahead of a sale, thus I didn't think to caution you about that. Patience (if possible) might be the most prudent course now.

Well, it's possible that the pandemic is having an effect on buying habits, or it could just be that the focused audience on Comclink isn't broad enough. It costs nothing to list on Comiclink. For a faster, possibly better result, you could pull them down and list them on ebay. Far more people will see your books, but I believe ebay takes a larger chunk of the sale price, and you would have to interact with buyers to a degree.
My personal philosophy is that since I've held onto my books for so long, I don't have narrow margins for sale and I don't need to realize the full value of the books. Example: Chamber of Chills (Harvey) #19 in 5.0 goes for around $4000, but I only have $50 tied up in it. I could offer it for an attractive $3000 and still make an obscene profit.

I found it somewhat less intrusive in Umbrella Academy season 2, possibly because the songs weren't so incredibly out of touch with the time period's music. But it still bugged me and was definitely noticeable if you're any kind of a music buff. Yeah, it was very noticeable, but the fact they melded it to the time period worked for me at least. It was a clever little extra thing. Agree. I am in the middle of season 2 and have been blown away by some of the music choices. My favorite so far has been the use of Peter Schilling's Major Tom (Coming Home) during the origin of Pogo. Magnificent!

Got these today in the place in NJ Is the Snowman on the cover of Supergirl 7 the same one from Superman 266? I read the Superman story at the time and it really stuck with me because of Swan's amazing art in that issue, particularly as Superman's body is gradually covered in ice and snow from repeated contact with the creature. I had no idea the Snowman character had ever re-appeared.

ROM #17 - 18: The spaceknight battles a hostile X-Men team AND the abomination called Hybrid. My favorite tale from that series.
Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #36 - 37: The web-spinner faces the bizarre threat of Swarm. It's a great, but little-remembered two-parter. Parker uses his scientific acumen to develop an offense against a seemingly unstoppable foe. Classic.

They're obvious picks, but I prefer the golden age Doctor Fate, Atom and Hawkman in their original headgear.

I used to own a copy of this turkey... there I admitted it. I still have one. I'm not really a Superbaby fan, but the Superboy story features the first appearance of gold kryptonite.

I am so sorry to hear about FF #6. It's insane how good some of these restoration jobs are that we can't spot them when they are right under our noses. Eh, no risk, no reward. Besides, it wasn't ALL bad news. The other four books in the lot were graded Universal.

Just shipped the slabbed books off to ComicLink (thanks so much for the suggestion, Phil Maurice ). The two exceptions were Vampirella #1 (still in line at CGC since it's a magazine), and Albedo #2 (which a certain Crimebuster has snatched up from me). Glad to hear that slightly restored book has found a home. Like him, I wonder if such defects are surmountable, but my gut tells me it's just throwing good money after bad. Had a copy of Fantastic Four #6 come back from CGC this week with the dreaded purple label of death: Color touch, glue, and trimming along the entire top edge. Bummer because even if I could remove the glue and color touch, I can't fix a trimmed book. Hopefully, I can at least break even on it some day.

Maybe that started changing in that Daredevil drugs two-parter that was pulled and then finally allowed to appear? Beginning in ASM #175, the Punisher was shown to use non-lethal "mercy bullets" (drugged capsules that left victims unconscious but alive) when appearing in books with heroes who do not kill. He continued to use lethal force in the magazine stories. He was still using "mercy bullets" in ASM #201-202. The Daredevil story followed not long after, so that may be the point that he returns to lethal force.
