Although I think the Draft is pointless and useless (I mean, there's still a lot of crossover for storyline purposes) I'm thinking Cody will go over to Smackdown....can't have both major titles on one show. The amount of times that they've gotten rid of or say that they're bringing back the draft is crazy to me, but hey, who am I to argue with them chasing ratings?

1st Issue Special #8 and The Warlord #1-#10 and #12-#14
Decided to re-read/continue Grell's The Warlord, a series which I've always deeply loved. Really good mix of sword and sorcery fantasy and science fiction that's pretty well written

For goodness’ sake, someone online - and this time it wasn’t Russo - is asking about how interesting the main event would have been for casual fans. Okay, note to self: I must be an alien, or maybe Russo has spread his narrative, because I HONESTLY do not understand this obsession with strawman casual fan. Night 1 was for fans invested in the Bloodline saga, not some casual fan who last watched WWE when Diesel was world champion. But what do I know? Maybe the likes of Game of Thrones and The Sopranos should have featured episodes for ‘casual fans’ rather than people willing to invest time in shows. Oh, my favorite is all the people saying "The Rock Is Bringing Back The Attitude Era" or "They should rehire Russo as a writer if they really wanna bring people back to the product" Okay, so for context, I grew up watching Ruthless Aggression Era Smackdown and barely touched/watched wrestling until I was in my teens. I absolutely have no nostalgia for the Attitude Era. That being said, what little of 1998 RAW that I've watched, I've liked. I would not call it perfect, but it's decent. The wrestling kind of feels like an afterthought though. IDK and this is coming from somebody too who loves pre-Barely Legal ECW and while some of the matches were intentionally garbage, they did have some great technical matches.

That Snickers is likely to make Doomsday’s mood worse (I’m not a fan of that chocolate bar). I'm kind of adverse to chocolate with nuts in it (my mom is the same with oatmeal raisin cookies, which I love). My go-to is probably Twix, ate so much of those during college along with Mountain Dew Voltage

I thought about doing that, but I was so damn hyped for the main event that I literally could not wait until the next day Change of plan: I’ll watch tonight’s instalment, but I’ve got a crossword book here, when the superfluous crap is on, I’ll do the crossword instead. I mean, the ads are crap. No matter how many times they advertise Snickers, I’m not likely to rush out and buy one. Sounds like you need a Snickers! One thing that kind of annoyed me while watching it live was that they had video hype packages for Peacock Subscribers that were on the higher tier and anything lower had to watch ads

Next year I’m watching the event the next day, so I can fast-forward through the elaborate entrances, video packages, sponsorship crap, etc. I thought about doing that, but I was so damn hyped for the main event that I literally could not wait until the next day

what belt is Rock carrying around? The people's championship. He got it from Muhammad Ali's wife during the HOF ceremony on Friday. It's not a real belt, more like a championship ring

but it’d have been like Peter Weller being interviewed about RoboCop back in the day, and having one journalist congratulate him on how he played the role, while another journalist asks, “So, do you think OCP can be stopped by RoboCop, or does the corruption go too high?” I'd love to actually see Weller's response for that

Nah, Cody and Seth needed to lose tonight because it adds mileage to Cody's match on Sunday night. The Bloodline rules were actually in effect tonight when Rock F-Bombed the Ref (we heard it lol!) and threatened to fire him if he did the countout. It was a great match still....almost 45 minutes! I'm not expecting Cody to be helpless tomorrow night....I have a sneaky suspicion he'll have an assist and we saw it during his beatdown by the bus.
Congrats to Sami Zayn....new I-C champ! I'll give night one 8/10....I had no interest in Escobar / Mysterio....it's the same damn thing every week with them and it's stale, and Dominik is a waste of time. Glad the heels won the Smackdown tag team belts, was expecting Awesome Truth to get the RAW belts. Priest had to give up something if he's going to cash in the briefcase tomorrow night. And while Jade Cargill does have mega-potential, she is ripping off Storm from the X-Men.... I'm hoping Liv Morgan steps up now that Becky has blown it.....and....expect Alexa Bliss to be back soon.....
The night one Cody and Seth vs Roman and Rock was AMAZING. Even if Cody doesn't win, the sheer caliber of this match (and if it continues into night two) was utterly fantastic. I loved Rock's Final Boss Entrance (even if Roman's was a little less grandiose than the rest) I had no investment in the Mysterio match either and the 619 he did to Dom and his partner in the end seemed a little bit neutered The Zayn/Gunther and Ripley/Lynch matches were fun though Was also kind of surprised to see R Truth finally win a belt, I mean geeze, how long has he been with the company now? Oh, and as night follows day, you can guarantee that any wrestling press conference will feature at least two stupid questions. I don’t know why WWE bothers with these press conferences. Final question to The Rock was, “Can we expect any surprises during Night 2?” Rock replied, “Yes, you can.” What did that ‘journalist’ expect? What a waste of a question. Did she expect to be given chapter and verse of what night 2’s main event would entail? Oh, the Roman press conference was great. Somebody asked a dumb question and both Heyman and Roman told him to shut up immediately

I'm cautiously optimistic about Cody possibly winning both nights. Is HHH gonna let Cody be fed to Roman again or is he actually gonna win this time? We'll see I feel we can presume nothing, my friend. I was so sure Brock would beat Reigns for the title at WM XXXVIII, given how it’d had been hyped. And I was almost sure Drew would beat Reigns at Clash at the Castle. When neither happened, I was surprised. It seems a given Cody will end the story in a “Rocky II” kind of way, but can we be 100% certain? I'll feel strange as hell if Cody does end up winning though and excited for the stories that'll follow. Maybe he'll challenge Seth to fully unify the titles? Oh no, Batflunkie , I just heard from my friend who is an insider at Titansports, he said this: “Plan is for Hulk Hogan to win the world championship as it’s the 40th WrestleMania. Reigns will beat Rhodes by throwing salt in his eyes. Hogan will come out and lobby the referee to reverse the decision, but Reigns will challenge Hogan to an impromptu match - which Hogan will win with a clothesline and legdrop after interference from Heyman backfires.
This will take place at the end of hour 3 of Night 2. Hour 4 will consist entirely of Hogan posing to the crowd.
And then the plan is for Hogan to spend the summer in meaningless tag matches before dropping the belt to Reigns in June.” If Bret isn't there, I'll riot Also just got done with Heyman's Hall Of Fame speech. It was wonderful and I actually started crying through some of it. Love that man and absolutely love what he's done for this business, ESPECIALLY the fact that he never stopped trying

It’s been fun recently, though, and I’m already wondering what the post-WrestleMania landscape will be like. I'm cautiously optimistic about Cody possibly winning both nights. Is HHH gonna let Cody be fed to Roman again or is he actually gonna win this time? We'll see

One of my favourite trades, and one I’ll read again so as to prepare myself for the second volume: I'm a big fan of Lemire (have been since I started reading Bloodshot Reborn), really need to read Black Hammer at some point. But there's so many books in the series now that it's kind of confusing

Russell has done good work with Prez, Flintstones, and Exit Stage Left: The Snagglepuss Chronicles and has struck me as probably one of the very few people who'd I'd consider fully able to continue Howard The Duck where Gerber left off. That being said, I hope he hasn't lost his touch so quickly
