Neither in the context of the Archie world. Betty is trapped in her desire for the red headed fool who can't see how great she is. Veronica uses, abuses and takes advantage of the red headed dumb ass with no intention for committment. Both girls are deaf, dumb and blind to reality. Archie isn't worth either of their attention as he totally forgets about them and chases after every new girl in town he meets.
It makes for fun comic reading but none of them are healthy individuals in Riverdale.

Saw the General Ursus and Dr. Zaous Mego figures today at Target. Wasn't all the impressed as the faces were rather bland and neither had their eyes painted on. The GREAT FIND was the Peter Vushing Dr. Van Helsing! Will look great on my wall beside the Lee Dracula. Merry Christmas to me!!!

Plenty of Kirby to mine story, plot and design wise. Outside of using the names, the Eternals has very little Kirby within it. Sad really that NONE of Kirby's ideas and grandeur will ever be seen on the big screen. The closest has been Thor (all 3 movies but especially Ragnarok) and then Guardians of the Galaxy with their Eternal teases and cosmic elements 😢

I was listening to Christmas music and I heard a “baby it’s cold outside “ version sung by Tom Jones. I was thinking he must have had sex with the most women In The history of the world. From "reports" Wilt Chamberlain and Gene Simmons might argue that thought.

I am just glad no one posted a cover with Ice Man sans pantalons. That would be snow globes, wouldn't it?

Moustaches : 0 Full beard : 1 That moment where I realize that, despite all my hard work, I've definitely been going about this all wrong. Yeah. I had to throw aside Reggie Mantle in love with himself or his mirror. Was tempted to try working Rick Jones/Captain Mar-Vell joined at the nega bands into the top 12. Thought really long on interspecies love/hate for Tom and Jerry or Coyote and Roadrunner Sylvester/Tweety or Bugs and Elmer before deciding those were more about hunger/eating/meal choices. 😉

I know I could look this up myself, but are there any collections, like an Epic or whatnot, of the original G.I. Joe series from Marvel? That was the first comic book I collected as a series, as everything before that had just been one-offs here and there. The first issue I bought off the newsstand (and yes, it was from the local newsstand, not an LCS) was #49 (with Destro and Dr. Mindbender hauling off a mummy so they could make Serpentor). I wound up going back and getting most of the beginning of the run (I bought some of the reprint digests and second printings when I couldn’t afford the first prints), and I collected the series up through about issue #110 or so. Sadly, I wound up selling most of these years ago. Any insight would be appreciated. Wish you luck hunting. The trade reprints started back in 2009, so most are out of print. A quick look shows Ebay/Amazon/etc asking prices start around $50-100 with slightly decreasing requests after TPB #10 and up. It would behoove whoever's gets the new contract to reprint them ASAP. I was lucky for purchasing these as they came out as well as trades of the IDW/Hama continuation series. Used to have the entire Marvel run in monthly buying new off the racks, but that box was stolen back in my 2019 break in. 😭 Last year I bought an DVD-ROM to read on my laptop from Etsy via a British seller for $15. That DVD collects ALL the Marvel, Devils Due/Image runs. Did the same for Transformers from the seller.

Found Gorgeous George Perez in black and white glory inside Deadly Hands of Kung Fu with the Sons of the Dragon stories. Great that he created the very 1st Puerto Rican hero in the White Tiger. Loved his Logan's Run adaption. His Man-Wolf run was purely amazing. His taking over Fantastic Four from Rich Buckler cemented my grabbing up ANY Perez artwork whenever and wherever I could find it.
But most awesome of all was Perez on my favorite team:AVENGERS! He turned into THE MOST MEMORABLE artist (no offense to the bro's Buscema) of the team. Creating a fandom which enabled his creative growth as artist, co-creator and eventually writer. And he only got better and better at DC. His name became a mark of guaranteed MUST BUY.
And on top of all that, the man is an honest, humble, caring, dedicated, funny and entertaining person. His devotion to comic books is astounding and others could learn much from him about what comics are all about. All of his fans will miss him and hold him close in our minds and hearts forever, cherishing EVERY page he has given us of art and writing.

Just saw from ClownfishTV on Youtube there is a highly confirmed RUMOR that Image has gotten the Hasbro contract. That could be good news for us fans.

Truly sad news. Perez is a big part of my comic book life which permeated so much of my collecting. He has delivered great joy to his fans and we will never forget him. A true GREAT AND BELOVED creator that brought his joy of comics to everything he created.
Glad to have met him 6 years ago and give him my personal thanks for providing my youth with such wondrous memories.

I guarantee *nobody* will have my #11 pick. Cei-U! Heh heh heh! I'd be very surprised if anyone else had my #11, 10, 7, or 6. Man, I love this event! I can't even pretend to figure on the other member choices. Been here long enough to know the CCF Cranky Curmudgeon Retirement Center is actually a home for the mentally unstable. You know there will be certain obvious choices turning up but the fun of this annual discussion is what turns up OUTSIDE of the norm. I mean come on. I could have focused upon the Many Loves of Dobie Gillis or James T. Kirk or the many bed partners of Clint Barton or She Hulk or Tony Stark or Bruce Wayne. I predict we gonna see some wild choices for this year...

Resolutions? We don't need no steenking resolutions!?! Continue reading comic books not good enough for you all? Ok, more specifically finish up reading my Elquest, Usagi Yojimbo and Judge Dredd trades. Start on reading my Conan Omnibus (have 1-4). Read my ROM Spaceknight and Micronauts complete runs. Read my Marvel Tarzan complete run. Continue reading/commenting on my Valerian trades. I am NOT a reviewer but maybe start a post on comments of my reading Corto Maltese so Shaxper has somewhere else to post. Maybe do the same for Elfquest and Ms. Tree if settle into New Year. Continue hunting and searching for inexpensive missing issues in my DC war books. Do same for my Marvel Westerns. Do same for Jughead comics. No TOY purchases except for my Hot Wheels or the very occasional MUST HAVE figure. Lord knows what else? Cruddy year for following my resolutions. I had to watch finances while spending frugally.
Read Marvel Tarzan but NONE of the rest. Did begin Cerebus which wasn't part of the plan. Dove headlong instead into reading Archie Jughead volume 2, Jonah Hex volume 2 and Batman from the start in the 1940's. Focused in October classic Horror comics from various publishers.
No commenting/reviewing on listed options but have started a few mini reviews on Gold Key Star Trek.
Have found a few $2-3 War and Westerns in the early part of the year. No comic buys since early summer.
Managed several "wants" in toy figures. I found a Funko Pop Mirror Mirror Captain Kirk. Several Mego monsters: Frankenstein, Christopher Lee Dracula and Wolfman. A pair of plastic Halloween face masks of the Wolfman and Planet of the Apes. And of course several Hot Wheels of classic muscle cars, flame paints and 3 different Batmobiles.
That is how it goes with resolutions. Make 'em and break 'em.

Finished watching the entire Superman and Lois season on DVD today. This is the very BEST CW adaption from DC comics of all the shows. Excellent casting for every single character. The focus upon the Super-family is hitting all the right notes. Really like that Jonathan isn't being overshadowed by Jordan's powers. The parenting aspects of Clark and Lois feels real, honest and from the heart.
Think it was smart moving locations from Metropolis to Smallville. Provides more personal intimacy and storytelling while allowing Supes to still operate worldwide as necessary. Smallville as a community and characters is easier to create visibly for television. Taking Clark back to his roots helps make him more "human" and believable removing much of the "alieness" and aloof super-dickery aspect of the comics. I said it before and will repeat Hoechlin will be the BEST Clark/Superman as they are giving him wonderfully creative writing to perform with BOTH persona's. He truly is putting the SUPER in the MAN and the MAN into the SUPER.
This shorter opening season was really tight and jam packed with story and action combining into a spectacular start. There was si much that could have dragged on in sloooow build up and they avoided that. So much story that could have made 2 seasons easily. Hoping they focus remains for this faster resolution of plots and not dragging out with filler episodes.
Looking forward to season 2! Up, up and awaaaaaay...
