Sanjulian, a peer/contemporary of Enric's, following much the same career path; they both did Warren covers and film work:

Charles Dana Gibson (arguably the great great grandfather of most "comics-inking/rendering" Enric, famous for Warren Magazine posters, book covers, film posters; the way he handles glass here is amazing:

When I can learn to behave. So probably never. To be honest, I think you two are probably the most unbiased in that thread. And I enjoy reading your posts. (And that's not meant as a dig at anyone else's posts.) agreed, but despite it's unpopularity 'right now', The Personal Is The Political is still valid if one takes into account the dedication to honoring debate, in honor of of those whom relished debate, like Gore and Harvey, vs. shouting matches between Milo and Kate. Then again I'm a Camille Paglia fan so most people think I can just get $#@!!!'d

So I announced to social media world today that I think I've found a new house and will be moving soon (can't afford to live where I'm living because of the divorce). I haven't really been able to share what I've been going through on social media because my ex and I share many friends, but I was able to share this and have been overwhelmed with support. It's been really really nice. And the icing on the cake? Tom Orzechowski (who lives nearby) just messaged me, offering to help me move. I politely declined -- how can I ask a comic book legend to move my stuff for me? -- but I can't believe the gesture. He and I will be getting together for coffee soon. That sounds JUST like Tom, whom has been that wonderful for decades, as well as being a grand wit, super-fun philisophical debater (vs arguing) and a lovely example of how a man does things 'right' RE romantic partnerships. He has been, is, and will be, a standard to attempt to live up to.

This looks interesting: "Some colleagues and I are currently running another online psychology experiment about comics, inference, and personality. We're trying to get a fairly broad sample, so if you’re interested, please participate and share. www.visuallanguagelab.com/participate.htmlThanks very much! ------ Neil Cohn Ph.D. Tilburg center for Cognition and Communication Tilburg University www.visuallanguagelab.com " I don't know how "well" I did but I took it. It might have been interesting to see the answers to the missing panel questions compared to my answer though. I take it he won't be ready for answers involving Bill Ward or Eric Stanton. *wink*

sometimes, it's all in the 'look-given', and the cast of the eyes, no 'curves' required.

His work is like a wonderful love-child of Giordano and Matt Baker.

so, cody, how do you feel about the 'new' iteration of First Comics? I haven't seen it. I haven't bought a "new" comic, apart from trade collections, in over a decade. Once in a while, I'll pick up a collected storyline, like the Shadow, with Matt Wagner, or something like that. I have heard nothing that had me curious about the new First offerings; actually I have heard nothing about them at all. The books that most interested me in the original were all creator owned and those guys have done other things with those properties.. Yes, understandable. From what I've seen, the "Second First" (pun intended) is First in name only, aside from a major playa in the First First being a head honcho in the publication-concern. It also seems to be primarily digital.

junkmonkey - Your point that you prefer to draw is priceless. Agreed, but I also must commend you on the new avi of a wonderful slavic goddess thespian! who'd look great in a cape. Just wish she hadn't lost so much Jane Mansfield-ish weight since The Spirit... Rapid weight loss ages the face horridly; her face, and her talent via micro-expressions, is sublime.

Photobucket has become increasingly obnoxious and impossible to use over the past year, but I've clung to it like a fool because it was what I was used to. Now, as of 12am Friday, they have disabled all 3rd party hosting unless you pay them $300 per year. You read that right. So basically every photo I've ever embedded for every review I've ever written is now locked out, held random for pay, no advance warning given. Obviously, this brings my reviews to a screeching halt. Can someone recommend a reliable image hosting service that I can use in place of Photobucket? then I can spend the rest of the damn summer moving the images over and updating all the links... This has been a pain and problem for many long-time genre bloggers as well, focussed on movie reviews, requiring screencraps (much like your comic-reviews). A recent successful monster-film blogger suddenly had all the images pulled from their blog, rendering their site pretty-much useless: 'thanks, photobucket'. I use an alternate site, created after F-bucket. I'll message you the link.

Let's see a new updated Galactica 1980 to go along with the Sci-Fi channel's updated Galactica. How much more crazy it can be now with digital/CGI work and especially with the Cylon's having human forms. All the the things which the show could accomplish working within TODAY's time frame and politics. Might be a very interesting show for watching. There I said it. Cylons in mechanoid form against Somali pirates... tasty.
