Me and my wife are expecting our first kid in late september/early october and I need to start selling some comics on e-bay to be able to buy a few things like a stroller, a bed, little socks, etc...
Anybody from Canada as any experience with shipping to the USA AND to Canada? Anybody made a chart of what they paid for shipping to different location for 1, 3, 5 comics or TPB?
I went to the post office with a single comic in a box but they told me it changes from location to location. The fees calculator on their website is not that good neither.
Anyway, if somebody knows what he'S talking about, I'd appreciate it!
Thanks!

I don't ship comics, but I do ship books for work all the time. From the US to Canada, the best way to go, by far, is the flat rate envelopes. The small one cost $20.55 for a maximum of 4 lbs, so can get 4 lbs worth of comics in there... I'd say probably 5 or 6 bagged and boarded. The Medium and Large boxes I suspect would be the wrong shape for comics... you might be better off with 2 small ones, but you can try them.
Make sure you get 'Priority International' and and 'priority Express'.. Express is about 2x as much (but gets there faster).
Another thing to consider.. the receiver has to be import duties on anything that's valued over $250, so if you can, it's good to make 2 (or more) small packages, and send them a week or so apart, then sending one big expensive one. There's a form you have to fill you that tells the post office what your sending and what it's worth.

Thank you so much Wildfire! I'll charge 20$ for shipping to the US.

If you're shipping FROM Canada then what Wildfire said doesn't apply, since he was posting about shipping TO Canada via USPS.

The flat envelope vs package comparison applies to Canada too, but it takes very few comics to disqualify for the envelope status (especially in a padded envelope). Canada Post is very expensive, unfortunately, and I've yet to find an affordable way to send comics away. And the Books rate doesn't exist in Canada. You could try this site, which compares the rates of different companies (including Canada Post): shipgooder.com/

Thanks Roquefort. I'll probably only have to ship one book at a time. I don'T want to sell a lot, so I'll just sell a few more expensive books like First Jonah Hex, First Apocalypse, First Ant-Man,X-men 142, old western Comics, etc...
