and speaking of Cheesecake, this is one I actually DID buy due to the cover (and had to special request it if I recall correctly). I've had it framed and hanging on the comic book room wall for years . . quite the conversation piece:

and tho not a comic book, this print (apparently still available online for $30 from Cosmic Therapy (signed and numbered!) -- where I grabbed the pic from) of Jill Thompson's Scary Godmother by Alex Ross is another centerpiece of the comic room:

Not a fan of that style Chiodo took to doing...much prefer his earlier work: I bought this an art book of his back when it came out ... www.amazon.com/Art-Chiodo-Joe/dp/1887279687/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1422625653&sr=8-3&keywords=art+of+joe+chiodoIt has his comic related art and non comic related art. Some of them, speak a lot of volumes not just in that it's much different than his comic art, but in the story being told in the picture. Two I recall, a gal embracing a robot/cyborg, and a drunk with his wife/girlfriend on the ground of the front yard. Both letting you make a story to the picture. The one comic art of his I have always had intentions of reading was a one shot of Daredevil and Black Widow, though the title escapes me. There were a few panels from that book in the above art book as well.

I'm a big fan of Paolo Pantalena's artwork.

I have to say, I find very few of the covers in this thread to actually be sexy. A few. But in general, I just don't find blatant T+A to be sexy. It just seems kinda cheesy and blah to me, especially in a storytelling medium; very few of these covers make me thinki there's any kind of story worth reading at all inside the comic.

I agree... in fact, I sometimes avoid such covers on purpose, sort of on principle. I spend alot of time in my life trying to convince people comics are a worthwhile medium for everyone... and contain legitimate literature. While all forms of literature have their 'trashy' stuff, it just seems like for comics there's a higher percentage, and a bit of a stereotype, so I don't really want them in my collection.

Life's too short for people's judgement on one's entertainment. I have "legitimate" art on my walls the same as I have Pantha, Belldandy, Power Girl and Bettie Page.

I bought Tom Strong's Terrific Tales mainly for Jonni Future's features...I mean, for the Jonni Future feature.

yeah, Jonni Future was my favourite terrific Tales feature as well, at least as far as the artwork was concerned. I'd like to see a separate collection some time.
As for the thread in general, the Image style - if that's what it's called - has never appealed to me in any sense, whether sexiness or superheroic fantasy or anything else, so none of those seem sexy to me. But there are a lot of individual artists who can draw covers I find sexy - Dave Stevens, certainly; Mark Scultz, Frank Cho, ... and a lot of European artists like Denis Sire, but they tend not to draw as many covers because of the difference in format.
