I don't like female characters derived from established male heroes and have never liked any of Ms. Marvel's costumes, but even I have to admit that Frank Cho makes it work there. If he had done the interior art I probably would have bought that comic in spite of my dislike for the character. Cho did a few issues of New Avengers that had her in the book. I might have read them - is that the Ultron story, where Ultron decides to start looking just like the Wasp? I don't know why they didn't have an all-female Avengers when Cho was doing the artwork. Would have been the perfect time for it. |

Yeah, I bought this one for the cover.  I've wondered about this series and toyed with the idea of picking it up. Is the comic itself any good? |

Yeah, I bought this one for the cover. I've wondered about this series and toyed with the idea of picking it up. Is the comic itself any good? Some of the run is. There are a few issues where Carol puts together her own team, which includes Machine Man and Sleepwalker, and those are fairly enjoyable. Later in the series, the books dovetail with the Dark Reign stuff going on in the wider MU, so Moonstone posing as Ms. Marvel becomes the "hero" of the book. It isn't anything I would suggest going out of my way for, but most of it is a decent read. |
