I've read a third-hand report that Larry Ivie has died after battling lung cancer. Haven't seen it mentioned on any of the usual news sites, so treat it as a rumor at this point. Larry wrote for Marvel, Warren and Tower as well as publishing his own Monsters and Heroes magazine.
If the rumor is true, condolences to his family and friends.

I remember his stories on the earliest issues of Creepy and Eerie I knew the name sounded familiar but I couldn't place it, until you posted. I remember reading some of his work when I read the first Creepy Archives a couple of years back. Condolences to his family and friends if the rumors are true. -M

Larry Ivie was illustrator of great skill, and belongs to another era of masters greatly influenced and indeed part of the pulp tradition, including guys like Frazetta, Jones and Krenkel... all passed. Ivie too will be missed. Here are a couple of his illustrations from the classic Burroughs fanzine ERBdom. Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted
