The Mighty HerculesThis is one of my sentimental cartoon shows in the early sixties and I often watch these 5 minutes cartoon shows and there were exactly 128 episodes were produced by Adventure Cartoon Productions via Trans-Lux. I'm a big fan of these shows and I will try to share as much I can here on this thread. Wikipedia Link - The Mighty HerculesI still get a kick out of watching these cartoons on You Tube on an infrequent basis and I watch about 3-5 of these a week and I will try to post as many of the 128 episodes I can after I watch them and share my thoughts on these shows were made back then. I know that we have many older generations of cartoon lovers out there and I just wanted to share some of my thoughts about this old cartoon before it's long forgotten. And, the fact reminds that I'm a sucker for these cartoon shows and I just wanted to share this today and it's often makes me feel good as a kid back then. Opening Theme Song of the Mighty Hercules Hercules, hero of song and story. Hercules, winner of ancient glory. Fighting for the right, Fighting with his might, With the strength of ten ordinary men. Hercules, people are safe when near him. Hercules, only the evil fears him. Softness in his eyes, Iron in his thighs, Virtue in his heart, Fire in every part, Of the Mighty Hercules. You Tube of Opening Theme SongClosing Theme Song - Ending CreditsJoin us at his side, Standing there with pride, Victory is here, Raise a mighty cheer, At the sight of Hercules Closing You Tube ClipI have these songs pretty much memorized by now. I know it's somewhat corny now, but when you as a kid - it's was uplifting and heroic and it's still is. Do we have fans here in Classic Comic Forums?

Pretty sure segments of this were shown on the Little Rock version of the Bozo the Clown show when we got that city's stations during the year we lived in Pine Bluff, i.e. most of the 1966-1967 school year. (Shreveport, the source of our programming in my native Stamps, didn't have a Bozo show, AFAIK.)

I was exactly the right age to be a dedicated fan of this show. Wikipedia says it started broadcasting in September 1963, which is also the month I read my first comic book. By the time it went off the air in May 1966, I had noticed that it wasn't as interesting as the comic books any more - I guess I'd outgrown it by that point. But the first year or so, it was my absolute favorite. This show was probably the main catalyst for my interest in mythology, gods and heroes of the past.
When Marvel introduced their Hercules in JIM Annual #1 (on sale 6/1/1965), it was my first experience with the idea that there could be different versions of the same character. Recently I've been reading Promethea, and clearly Alan Moore had been thinking about that idea for a long time.

I was 9 when it debuted but never was excited over the show. Rocky and his Friends, Flintstones, Top Cat and Dick Tracy was more my speed. I think shortly after Astro Boy and Gigantor arrived in the U.S. followed by Jonni Quest. I even preferred Gumby and Davey and Goliath

I watched The Herculoids on cable TV at my grandmothers in the 80's when it was a top notch technology. It's a 60s show but I didn't know that then and loved it.

I remember this show. Didn't he pull his belt tight to gain power ? That was Sinbad, Jr. Attachment DeletedI loved the Hercules cartoons, though even at the tender age of 5 I knew they were playing fast and loose with the original myths. The only thing I hated was the way the centaur said everything twice said everything twice. Cei-U! I summon the diabolical Daedalus!

I remember this show. Didn't he pull his belt tight to gain power ? It was his magic ring that did the trick! From Wikipedia
When in serious danger, Hercules puts on his magic ring from which he gets his superpowers. Once wearing the ring and raising his fist, the ring is struck by flashes of lightning (referred to as the Thunder of Zeus in several episodes). Hercules is then endowed with super-strength, and goes forth for several brief episodes to do battle with nemeses such as Daedalus, an evil wizard who is the chief villain (sometimes accompanied by his pet cat Dydo)

Never saw that one as a kid. I had this... Aw, man...I used to LOVE the Space Sentinels. My favourite character was the guy who could run at the speed of light (was his name Mercury?). Also, they had a really cool secret base inside an extinct volcano. I remember thinking as a kid that their starship was definitely ripped off of the Millennium Falcon though.
