Count yourself lucky, however Diver Dan did make it to the world of comcs Is that fish really smoking a cigarette underwater?!? Judging by the bloodshot eyes it must be one of those funky newfangled sea"weed" cigarettes them crazy youths be doing!

Is that fish really smoking a cigarette underwater?!? Judging by the bloodshot eyes it must be one of those funky newfangled sea"weed" cigarettes them crazy youths be doing! He has a cigarette, but may not be smoking it. Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diver_Dan) says: "Baron Barracuda wore a monocle in one eye, and spoke in a vaguely European accent; he sounded like a Bela Lugosi "Dracula" imitation. Trigger always had an apparently unlit cigarette jutting from the side of his mouth and sounded a bit like Ed Norton from The Honeymooners." Baron Barracuda is the other fish on that cover with Trigger; his monocle is clearly visible. Trigger, by the way, is supposed to be a triggerfish. I watched Diver Dan when I was a kid, but never saw the comic books.

Diver Dan's artist is credited to Sal Trapani who later worked on The Hulk. Not that there's any correlation

As much as Robin would seemingly be based upon the bird (red breast and all) i can't but feel he is more Robin Hood than Robin bird.

if you want to go into comics: the Legion Cruiser designed by Dave Cockrum trumps a crashed spaceship used as a club house. i can't remember: was the club house ever shown as being used in flight?
