I just downloaded and watched the newest DC Animated feature today and.........
IT WAS FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!!!!!
I won't spoil it for anyone but it made Justice League War look "meh" by comparison!
Now admittedly, I have always been an Aquaman fan since the Peter David run but I think after viewing this, a lot of people are going to be trading their Superman/batman...etc shirts for Aquaman.
my only complaint is the amount of time it took to release it. I really wish the folks at WB animation would get busy and do more releases like this in greater frequency and more than that, get to work on a full time series (just the thought of a series done like this makes me geek out!)

I'm glad to hear you liked it. I've read elsewhere people not liking which very much surprised me.

I thought the overall story was good. The changes made to the story for video were quite interesting. The only things I didn't really enjoy were some of the costumes and dialogue(which came across as quite cheesy in some parts).

Releases on Tuesday 1/27. I like my Bluray combo packs, so waiting to watch it on Tuesday wen it arrives from Amazon. I cannot imagine I won't like this. I have really been excited about this one....

Will do! It won't arrive until Tuesday, but I plan on watching it that night if work doesn't interfere. Been working long hours these days...since our acquisition. Boo...has left so much less time for me to do the stuff I enjoy.

Watched it last night. On a scale of 1 to 10, i would rank it between 6-7. Most their dtvs imo run around the 5-6 mark lately. It was good with some praise worthy elements. Orms performance and the fight scenes in particular. There were also some nitpicks like some dialog and characterization stumbles (predominantly with aquaman and capt marvel). The story and aquaman could've been better. They deserved more room/time to breathe and develop but were sacrificed in order to justify calling it the justice league and getting those other characters included. Personally wws voice /performance was totally flat and I just don't care for this batman voice actor or this performance.
Personal nitpick... my God superman and Wonder Woman just get uglier and uglier looking.
I actually kindve liked the aquaman costume design somewhat (but the sideburns were a little dumb).
Liked the opening title sequence design.
Nothing about it was terribly new or different or impressive and overall it seemed like I've seen it all before. As a result, though i'd say it was well done, Im not at all compelled to rewatch it and don't imagine I'll be inclined to anytime soon.

Has it come out on DVD/Bluray yet? I checked out the DVD from the library a few weeks ago. I wasn't that big on it, but I'm not big on the Justice League generally, either. |
