From Report: THE TITANS TV Line-Up Revealed? by Chris Arrant, Newsarama ContributorDate: 02 February 2015 Time: 12:45 PM ET 3156 317Reddit0Submit1 If people are looking to see DC put together a live-action superteam, they may not have to wait until the Justice League movie in 2017. New possible details are being reported regarding the previously announced The Titans television series at TNT, which if accurate show the project is well on its way to becoming a reality. The Nerdist is reporting that they've obtained a draft of the pilot script to The Titans, written by Akiva Goldsman and Marc Haimes, which outlines not only who the team will be but also where they're at when the series begins. According to Nerdist, the Titans team will be comprised of Nightwing, Barbara Gordon, Raven, Starfire, Hawk and Dove. According to the script The Nerdist claims to have read, Nightwing is been based in Boston working as a detective after leaving the side of Batman and ending his career as Robin. Like Nightwing, Barbara Gordon past as Batgirl in referenced but in the present day of The Titans script she is restricted to a wheelchair due to an unrevealed injury. Nerdist says she's "the team's resident computer hacker," but doesn't carry a codename -- Batgirl, Oracle, or otherwise. Hawk and Dove appear to be the Hank Hall and Dawn Granger itteration of their pairing according to Nerdist, with the script picking up on their comics romance. However, descriptions of their costumes don't match their familiar comic bookversions. Although Nerdist confirms both Raven and Starfire are a part of the Titans team, their reports indicate they only show up at the end of the pilot episode to tease more in future episodes. Beast Boy, who was mentioned in the announcement for TNT's The Titans, is not referenced at all in the pilot script Nerdist read, and neither is the long-standing member of comics' Titans, Cyborg, who obviously is unlikely to be a member of the team due to the character's upcoming debut as a featured player in DC's big screen cinematic Universe. Nerdist also reported that there's no telltale signs that Titans is - or isn't - part of the interconnected universe shared by CW's The Flash and Arrow.

That... doesn't sound much like the Titans. Be kinda cool if it's actually filmed in Boston, though.

They don't necessarily have to start with the 5 orignals... I'm sure Wally isn't an option, nor is Cyborg. But Barbara Gordon (who, if she was ever a Titan, it wasn't for very long).. and Hawk and Dove (a very short stint) are NOT Titans characters.. guest spots, maybe.
Why not just Nightwing, Beastboy, Starfire and Raven? Toss Terra, Aqualad/Tempest, maybe Jericho(obviously with an updated costume) in, and you're good. Heck, I'd even take a new made-for-TV character if what we get for the rest are actual Titans, not just 'collection of Teenaged marketable Superheroes.'

I guess, personally, I'm sick of a Titans line-up with Cyborg, Starfire, and Raven. It's been done so many times and hasn't really had huge success since the early 80s. If they can get the rights for Nightwing, I don't see why Wally and the others should be off limits. If the Fab 5 is really off limits, there are many other Titans characters that the show could go with such as Bumblebee, Red Star, Terra, Zachary Zatara, Joker's Daughter, Golden Eagle, Flamebird, Lilith, Hot Spot, Pantha, or Phantasm.

I"m just assuming they're not going to put a different Flash in the Titans, when he has is own show. I'd LOVE to see Donna, but they've never used her before, so I don't have alot of hope on that front.
Alot of those guys you mention would be really interesting, but I have a hard time seeing it happen from a marketing point of view.

Nightwing and Barbara Gordon are two VERY interesting characters with a very interesting relationship. I am glad they are a part of this.
Hawk and Dove - I suppose a lot could be done with this concept. I can understand why they are included.
Starfire and Raven - Neither rank in my top 100 favorites. However, both are popular characters from the Teen Titans Go series. Starfire brings a space theme, and Raven brings the supernatural theme. I understand why they are included. I guess I will just have to live with them.
Beast Boy should, by all means be introduced. Terra is too awesome of a character and concept to not introduce.
I can also understand why Cyborg (in the JL movie), Aqualad (with Aquaman in JL), Wonder Girl (WW in JL), Kid Flash (Flash in JL), Miss Martian (Manhunter in JL), Superboy (SM in JL), and Speedy (Arsenal on Arrow) aren't being included.
I am GLAD some of the other Titans concepts, such as Wildebeest, Phantasm, Lilith, and Hornblower aren't a part of this.
Perhaps Joker's Daughter, Red Star, or Bumblebee will be introduced down the line? Perhaps as guest-stars?

I'm curious as to why they can use Robin and Oracle but not Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, etc.

The 2003 series lasted 65 episodes, and Go! will have at least 52 (104 mini-episodes). I haven't seen much of the '03 series, but what I saw was good (Doom Patrol!) and Go! is one of the best things on TV right now.

The 'serious' Titans series was quite good... it's up there with the Timm-verse stuff, IMO. Go! basically like everything else Nick does these days with a Superhero theme, but it is at times hilarious.... I agree that both have to be considered pretty successful... Teen Titans at 65 episodes is definitely the longest running non-Timm DC cartoon since then.
They won't use Flash because he has his own show... and it wouldn't make sense to have a younger Flash when the one they've got is a teenager. I think they COULD use Wonder Girl, they just don't ever seem to, for some reason... maybe her origin is just too confusing to settle on.
I'm surprised to see the Starfire hate... both the 'real' version and the cartoon version (though completely different) are great characters... as is Raven (who is pretty much the same). Granted the New 52 versions are bordering on terrible... but they wouldn't do that, would they?

I'm afraid that this TITANS TV-Line-Up will disappoint some/many fans and I just don't know who it will be - that's how I see it. I can see this show fail because of that. Sorry Everyone - that's my hunch!
I will support any line up they bring us!

I liked the 2003 series but it ended quite a while ago and many people I know don't care for the Go! series as it's overly humorous. I think the Go! series is targeted and successful for kids but I don't see much of that audience watching the live action series.

Not a bad lineup, but I'd trade out Hawk and Dove for Beast Boy and Terra. Or Bumblebee and Mal. Or Offspring and Miss Martian. Or Bunker and the new Power Girl. etc. etc.

Bunker would be pretty awesome... he's got a tough power for TV, though... they use those little bricks of his are practically a green lantern ring these days.
