What intellectual properties from comic books and novels would you like to see adapted into (live-action or animated) films and/or television series? Personally I would love to see them do something with Airboy, either a live-action movie or CGI like Tintin. Marv Wolfman's Night Force could make an outstanding horror series as could a live-action version of Tomb of Dracula. I would love to see Marvel/Disney do a CGI Spider-Ham movie. I think the Creature Commandos could work as a series or an animated feature. I'd also love to see loyal adaptations of the '30s Buck Rodgers and Flash Gordon. What are some others properties that could make great movies? Which ones work better as TV series?

As far as novels go, I think pretty much anything written by Robert Ludlum, Tami Hoag, or Erica Spindler is fit for the screen.
For comics, and only counting things that have never had a live action adaptation, I think the first one on my shelf that catches my eye is DMZ. Also I think American Vampire could work. And Elfquest if someone was going to throw a huge budget at a fantasy trilogy, that would just about cover the original quest. Wasteland, Queen & Country, Stumptown, any number of Vertigo Crime graphic novels. I think Bone and Usagi Yojimbo would make good cartoons. Even MAUS. Possibly even Fear Agent.
As far as things that have had film adaptations in the past, I'd like to see an updated Tales From The Crypt. A new Mickey Mouse adventure based on Floyd Gottfredson's stories. I don't know if Archie ever got a live action treatment, but pretty sure it got a cartoon. I'd like to see a live action Archie TV series.

I'd like to see a proper Western movie featuring Bat Lash. I think if done well it could be pretty entertaining. Aside from hiring a competent director WB needs to cast the right charismatic actor to play the part. I think one of the mistakes they made with the Jonah Hex movie is they treated it like a bad comic book movie instead of a making a proper Western out of it. I don't know if Archie ever got a live action treatment, but pretty sure it got a cartoon. I'd like to see a live action Archie TV series. There were a couple cartoons, The Archie Show in the '70s and more recently Archie's Weird Mysteries. There was a live-action TV movie in the '90s.

I think it would be interesting to see Kirby's Fourth World Saga developed into a series of animated films.

I would like to see someone take on the The Marquis or Grendel. Both seem like no-brainer box office sensations.
However, what I'd really love to see is a brilliant director make Magnus Robot Fighter or Zot! work on the big screen. I want a visual update on Russ Manning's future, and I want it badly.
In related news, I hear Valiant is finally getting into Hollywood with an Archer & Armstrong film in production. I'd have thought X-O Manowar, Rai, Harbinger, or Quantum & Woody would have been better choices for a first Hollywood outing.

I think Night Stalkers would do nicely as a movie. Between the Comics Code and Ron Garney refusing to horror up at all, the comic shot itself in the foot (and then refused to show the blood as it bled to death), but there was a lot there, conceptually, and in the dynamics between the characters.
Ever since Ryuhei Kitamura mentioned the idea of doing a Gunsmith Cats movie, I've wanted it. That's a beautiful match of director and source, and he's interested, so.
I wouldn't mind a follow up to G-Men From Hell, or three or four follow ups.
and, before Michael Caine retires, we ought to have at least one Bix Barton flick, so he can voice Michael Cane.

I also second Dupont's suggestions for Elfquest and Usagi, I think both would be fantastic. As for my own suggestions, I'd love to see another Dick Tracy film, the serials were fun and I liked the Spencer Tracy adaptation from the 90's as well but I'm thinking a new film could go over really well. I'd also like to see either a Nemo in Slumberland cartoon or movie.

Ready Player One is one of my fave novels and would make a great movie if they could get the licenses.
Every other 80s cartoon has gotten one, why no Thundercats movie?
In terms of specific storylines, I'd love to see Secret Wars or Crisis get animated adaptations.
Kamandi could be a cool cartoon or movie.

Whenever this subject comes up, my first suggestion is always Ditko's Shade the Changing Man.

Shade could be interesting, but a well-done Kamandi movie could be really great.

I think it's a shame that DC haven't expanded their animated film universe. There are literally dozens of properties that could make for excellent straight to DVD movies, New Gods included. I would love to see Green Arrow Longbow Hunters and Year One adapted into animated films along with the Doom Patrol, Plastic Man, Metal Men, Black Lightning, Kamandi, Animal Man, the Legion of Super-Heroes, Amethyst, etc, etc. Granted a lot of this stuff has been animated before in either the Justice League series or DC Nation shorts or whatever.

None need to be. Some likely will, and perhaps very well, but none need to be.

None need to be. Some likely will, and perhaps very well, but none need to be. I would argue that the Arthur C. Clarke short story "The Sentinel" absolutely needed to be adapted into 2001: A Space Odyssey for the betterment of mankind!

I really would like to see a faithful, non-little kid-ized version of the Judas Contract.
I'd love a good version (Live action, I think) of Fables and Books of Magic, but I think it wouldn't work now.. they'd both come off as rip offs (even though both pre-date what people would accuse them of ripping off).
Mark Waid's Empire would pretty pretty awesome as a TV show.
Anyone remember Gatecrashers? I remember thinking at the time that'd make a great cartoon.
