Old timers from this board might remember a most prolific chap by the code-name Dan B and have wondered where he may have wandered. Whether he remains in our dimension or has abandoned our realm in search of enlightment, I would like to use this thread to call upon his spirit and ask him pertinent questions which only he might have knowledge. Subjects can range from Phillip Dick and other SF authors, Punk Rock and The Eagles, The Mysteries of Cats, Bananas etc. If enough of us read the posts and concentrate, we might get an answer from the misty regions of the universe. Or at worst, the Gang of Cats (who knows how many they number by now) will tell us to keep it down.
First off, I have seen an audiobook at my library called The Exegesis Of Phillip K. Dick. This is a massive set, over 50 hours and about 45 separate CDs. The story goes that back in 1974, Dick was taking medication under doctor's orders and combined with other drugs he ingested through the years began to experience visions. He began a journal regarding philosophy, religion and his personal history. He continued this journal for 8 more years until his death. The journal is supposed to run 8,000 pages and only recently became public. Within the answers of life and death reside.
Has Dan B From The Underworld reviewed this mighty work of art. Can it be the reason he has vanished from our mortal perceptions. Is this something his spirit would recommend to those adepts seeking the ultimate truth. Hear me , O Great Dan B One, and answer my plea

I've heard radio ads recently for the History of the Eagles tour, so I am guessing Dan B has been meditating and preparing to follow them around Deadhead like checking out their every tour date accompanied by his feline entourage who will feed upon the infidel at those shows.
Hopefully the cats didn't get antsy and start on Dan B.
Another theory is he found a time machine and traveled back to convince DC not to cancel Brother Power the Geek, but much to his chagrin, he wound up captured in the Brother Power comics as the main character when Joe Simon brandished the mojo from some Batrachian totem from antediluvian times to suck Dan's essence into the comics and then DC cancelled the series to prevent his escape.
Next on In search of...the fate of Dan B....

There was another rumor that during the baseball offseason, Dan enters a cryogenic center and only emerges when Derek Jeter gets his first at-bat during spring training. But now that Derek has moved on I'm not so sure what might reawaken Dan

I confess to having missed Dan's contrarian posts of late, but he's still around. He posted just last Friday in the "5 People to Invite for Dinner" thread. Maybe he's just busy lately, no doubt with some sort of banana related debauchery.

I can't even praise Taco Bell most delicious and get Dan to post his despise for it, and his pity for my taste buds. Slam had to pinch hit for him on that one.

I have been cheered of late by Taco Bell's return, at least for now (not sure if it's permanent or not), of the bean tostada to their menu, adam.
It takes so very, very little to make me happy.

As for The Exegesis of PKD, I'm somewhat familiar with -- but haven't read -- the print version, having glanced through the public library's copy. I've owned the earlier abridged (for lack of a better term) version since it came out a decade or so back.

True enough, but it's not definitely not meat, so I'm happy calling it bean.

I heard Dan accepted a gig with CGC in Sarasota grading and slabbing an enormous, pedigreed collection of DC and Atlas War comics originating from the personal collection of William F. Buckley. The books are easily distinguishable by the expansive marginalia in Buckley's own hand on every single page, including the advertisements. According to CGC's website, the project is expected to finish some time in 2017.

I concur with him 100%. Your comment reminded me of one part where he says Taco Bell got sued because a college study said 'your meat is only 38% meat' .. Taco Bell replied with basically saying "F--- you it's 80% meat. :-) Explicit NSFW

The less actual meat in Taco Bell's products, the happier I probably am, actually.
