SO many covers to choose from, including the classic "die die die". .but I just HAD to go with the bondage/cheescake one simply for the horrid pun on the cover! as to why do i love Ms. Tree? c'mon a female detective named Michael Tree written by Max Allan Collins? that's why! I was hooked after the first issue and followed it from Publisher to Publisher. . even buying the DC "toned down" issues.

Man this is going to be a really hard one to vote on based on the covers alone, so much of my bias' will be tied to series/characters I like being chosen rather than the actual covers. I struggled to find which Spirit cover I wanted to use even though I knew I wanted to pick the Spirit, because there wasn't a cover that stood out as "this is what I want to show off in the competition this week" like there usually is. Love the theme, but staying true to picking the best cover this week going to be tough for me. -M Completely agree. Hard to separate characters, creators, and the dynamics of the cover itself. Posters will vote on whatever criteria they choose, but I'll be voting on the cover itself. One of the key criteria in my mind is "Would this cover have gotten me to buy it off the newsstand ?"

I always try to vote on the merits of the cover itself, but yeah, this week it's going to be hard to separate the cover from the series and its creators.

I'm pretty sure this cover is self-explanatory.

Neat topic, I will go with Canada's own, Captain Canuck. I always have loved the look and thought he deserved more exposure than he was ever really given. Created by Rob Leishman.

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century #1Scripts by Phil Nowlan, Art and Cover by Dick Calkins I'm a big fan of Dick Calkins who died in 1962 that did these great Covers of Buck Rogers and it was him that got me introduced to Adam Strange, Flash Gordon, and other galactic heroes of yesterdays. I have a dear friend who happen to have these issues and I fell in love with the great team of Nowlan and Calkins. They were light years ahead of people and their imagination ran wild.

Everything I do with comics has to do with bringing back fond memories from when I was child. Beany and Cecil was one of my favorite shows and when my Sister was born in 3/62 I received a Beany Copter from my parents who said it was a gift from my new little Sister. Years later I spent $100.00 to regain a Beany Copter that cost .25 in 1962.

Has to be Love and Rockets for me as well. There are several outstanding covers to choose from the various incarnations of the series, including the one DubipR picked, but I'll go with this one: This one was a front-&-back double spread, which deserves to be seen, but I couldn't find an image for it (thought I saw it on GCD but that link doesn't seem to be working now). Let me try this: Poor quality photo of my own copy, but the best I could come up with for now.

It was one I always wanted to try when it was coming out but never could fit in my budget, and its only taken me 25+ years to get around to actually tracking it down. -M

While I have heard great things about Atomic Robo-that's a 2009 cover, not quite 10 years old to qualify for classic and this contest... -M

I've found the stories from when it was published by Aardvark-Vanaheim to be the most compelling in terms of action and the actual cases. . but really, you can't go wrong with any of em!
