Magpie held her bejeweled knife closer to Jerrica Benton, the human half of Jemstone. “So this is your secret eh? I wonder how the public’ll feel when Jem can no longer sing- with HER gone.”
Synergy’s heart raced, she felt like she was still Jerrica, retaining all the memories and feelings… she didn’t know what was going on. “Let her go Magpie or…”
“…or you’ll what?” the punk woman with a mohawk cackled “She’s my ticket off of this place. I didn’t spend those precious minutes breaking out of my cell just to run into you freaks like this.”
Jerrica herself looked stunned, but she was far from not being alert “Synergy! You have all the power…” Magpie cut her off by hitting her forehead with the hilt of the knife.
Synergy was in a bit of a daze as she had never had to act on her own. A few seconds later, her thoughts came together. She sent cackles of light in Magpie’s direction, a millisecond before Jerrica closed her eyes.
Zap!!
Magpie covered her eyes and dropped her knife. “Aargh.” Jerrica followed suit and gave the villainess a quick jab of the shoulder.
“Made ya look” Synergy’s powers have been returned to their original state- mere holograms, but they still packed quite a punch.
Jerrica ran to her side. “What just happened?”
Synergy shrugged “I’m not sure, but we’ve got to get out of this one fast. I…we’re not our usual selves and we seem to be half and half with everything, if you know what I mean.”
Jerrica tried using her powers…nothing. “Not everything was split half and half. I think we’re back to before.”
“I don’t think so. Why are you in my body and I in yours?” Synergy countered.
Jerrica looked perplexed-she glanced at Magpie, she was still trying to clear her eyes from the light show. “But I’m Jerrica as is…”
Synergy’s mouth gaped open, but I’m…” She remembered everything… her childhood, joining the band, the merging with Synergy… “I’m Jerrica… too.”
THWAK!!!
Synergy found the crystal knife stuck to her arm. She wasn’t a hologram, she was bleeding…

Several yards away…
The industrial area where the prison was located was in chaos. Villains and police ran away from or towards each other with the worst of intentions. The Arachnid came face to face with Shrapnel, perhaps the deadliest of the escapees from the Belle Reve prison annex.
“Out of the way, bug, or it’s gonna hurt!” threatened the metallic villain.
Arcahnid was definitely worried, but he wasn’t gonna let this monster made of razor-sharp metal shards know he was. “Oh really? And how do you know this bug don’t got a few tricks up his sleeve?” He was perched on top of a car that Shrapnel had pushed over on it’s side. “Say…”
BONG!!! Shrapnel felt the blow of a steel pole come crashing down on him that the car had hit.
“Thanks for the assist, pal. You just keep shooting yourself in the foot and I won’t have to lift a finger to stop you,” taunted the Arachnid. Arachnid knew that if he wanted to keep Shrapnel down, he will have to keep hitting. BAM. “Like Baseball?”
BAM “Me, I’ve always been a sports buff.”
Shrapnel swayed weakly with each blow. BAM
“I figure you’re more the rough and tumble kinda guy…”

Supergirl hit the pavement with a powerful thud. “Oh my, this guy’s been working out.” She quickly recovered and made a straight go for her attacker, the Grimstone. Grimstone never spoke but like the stone beast he is, made clear that he wanted the two heroes down and out of his path. He hit Supergirl with a brutal backhand, swatting her away like a ping-pong ball.
“Rnhhhh” Grimstone walking slowly across the street. Kid Comet, who had been buried under a slab of solid cement finally telekinetically wriggled himself free. “Hey! You’re not going anywhere!”
Full of rage Kid Comet directed the slab he had been under into Grimstone. The slab crashed into Brimstone and sent him flying into the wall.
The slab broke apart and that was Supergirl’s cue to deliver some more blows. She gave twelve rapid punches straight up the chin and face. “Rrrrrnnnh”.
Kid Comet was gathering enough energy to send him flying, that’s when Lombard, a sonic-powered villain screamed directly behind him. The hero fell to his knees clutching hi bleeding ears.
Supergirl celebrated her victory over the beast. However, when she turned around, she found that Bane was right behind her.

QueenBee had been keeping track of the inmates that have been recaptured. From 28, they were down to 17, but she was sure that everyone, including her was extremely exhausted by now. “We’re gonna need help.”
Frost had just encased four villains in ice, keeping them down with only enough room in the ice prisons to breathe. “Think you can contact the other titans? Wonder Warrior? The East people?” Then he saw another runner in the panicked crowd. “Heat Wave?” Frost ice-slid towards him.
“NOnono!” QueenBee cried. “Oh no. I shouldve gone after him. He’s gonna get fried by that maniac.”
“Or you can worry about me.” In front of her was a beautiful woman with Glass eyes and golden skin, her ashen transparent wings flapped in the wind. “I believe It’s time we talked, impostor!”

Along came Kid Marvel who surveyed the chaos. He had heard about it in the news and decided to help out. The facility was in shambles and people were running around in different directions. He recognized one of the inmates. Tharok- a new villain who had been captured and sent to the prison mere days ago. He was a crudely cybernetically-enhanced man who had been outfitted with weaponry. “What’s the matter? Not enjoying the new place?” Kid Marvel landed gracefully on the pavement right in front of Tharok.
“I’m just thinking it’s not really long-term. Besides, I have a whole universe to check out real estate from,” replied the villan.
“You’re coming with me!” Kid Marvel made his way to the villain…
“Don’t think so” Tharok blasted him with ammo from one of his arms.
Kid Marvel went down. “Ugh…”
“Never underestimate your opponents, boy.”

Green Lantern woke up in one of the outer decks of the prison building. He was tied to a chair. “Lame…” he tried to use his ring to cut through… it wouldn’t emit any energy- that’s ehn he realized. Ah. Yellow chair, yellow rope, darn it!”
From behind him came a sleazy male-ish voice. “Oh come now, boy. You wouldn’t wanna miss the fun this old lady’s gonna dish out.” Large palms rubbed his shoulders and massaged his biceps. He had heard this voice before, but where? He looked around to see a yellow female who resembled the Joker, a stuffy maid who looked like she was a villain in a bedtime story and… “Lashina!” Green Lantern finally realized.
“Granny’s back in town, and I’m taking you on a fun ride with me and my girls.”
