The Metrotower…
Frost hung up the phone. He wondered why he even bothered to find comfort in Hermes when he had said practically the same thing every time he called. “This is not for you. You’re in way over your head.” He shuddered at the thought that Hermes may be right. But he had his pride too. He wasn’t gonna let the other know his knees were yay close to buckling.
Lord Fate hadn’t helped either. The things he spoke made Frost’s alabaster skin tingle in cold, but not of his own power. Lord Fate had talked to him and Wonder Warrior just before they returned to the Metrotower.
“It can’t happen. Not like that.” He uttered to himself.
He made his way over to the infirmary. Both halves of Jemstone were held in stasis. Queen Bee was analizing their vitals.
“How could this have happened!” Kid Comet fumed.
“We’re not sure, when we found them they were already split in half. Jem… er… Synergy said it occurred just as she entere…” started Frost.
“I’m talking about how you ice-nuked a civilian!” Kid Comet interrupted in a questioning tone.
“I acted on how I thought was necessary to…”
“You’re supposed to be the leader, eyeing the lake before jumping in!”
“It was a command decision.” Frost’s voice broke. Kid Comet raised his pointer on Frost interrupting once more
“And you have no right to…”
Wonder Warrior cut him out “That’s not the way to talk to your leader. Do you think I’d let you talk to me that way?”
Kid Comet frowned at the tall figure. “You heard about what he did.”
“Yes…” Wonder Warrior pushed his cloak back “and I completely support it.”
Kid Comet was aghast.

Behind the wall Queen Bee watched the men argue. She wondered why Frost wasn’t speaking at all. Then she realized…
“Poor kid. He fell in too early.” Queen Bee, adjusted some controls on the stasis chamber where Jerrica lay. Her fingers were black, nearing frostbite. “Thankfully, you’re not beyond irrecoverable.”
She heard the faint fizzle of the door open. Frost had somehow excused himself from Wonder Warrior and Kid Comet’s argument.
“I’d like a moment alone with her…”

Diamond Alley…
Kid Marvel blocked Girder’s hit, grabbed his fist and pounded it on the ground. He then promptly stepped on the fist and used both fists to slam into Girder’s visage. Girder was hurt, but he managed a quick headbutt, knocking Kid Marvel down.
Supergirl flew overhead. “Hey, if you’re gonna try to steal my scene and act the man, don’t get your butt kicked.”
She spun and delivered a kick to Girder’s jaw.
“Sure no problem.” Kid Marvel decided it was time to show her the goods. He lifted his arms into the sky and sent a bolt of lightning crashing onto Girder. Girder, who was not as slow as he was hulking, ducked out of the way just in time.
“Is that all you got? Fireworks?” Girder smirked He bounded and made his way to Kid Marvel.
“He’s got me, right now at least.” Supergirl decked him from behind.
Kid Marvel gave Girder a swift kick as he fell to the side, letting him suffer a second blow.
“Hey, look! Lightning Boy’s got muscle.” Supergirl said in jest.
“Who are you calling Lightning Boy?” Kid Marvel said.
Just then Girder got up and started towards him again. “You’re mine punk!”
“Don’t think so.” Kid Marvel summoned one more of his lightning strikes. Girder ducked again, but as he did, he met Supergirl’s powerful fist attack.
Within seconds, Girder was down.
“That wasn’t too difficult…” smiled Kid Marvel.
“We make a good team! Why did you refuse Queen Bee’s offer to join us?” Supergirl asked wiping her slightly aching hands on her cape.
“I have my reasons.” Kid Marvel smiled. “Now I have to go.”
In a flash of lightning he was gone. “He may not be Capt. Marvel, but he sure knows how to put on a show.”

The Metrotower…
“I heard about your latest stunt.” Wonder Warrior said over the commlink. “Getting that ‘witness’ of yours to testify to the incident will not help matters.
Amanda Waller replied in a coy manner, letting the Amazon prince know that the charade is rather thinly-veiled “Oh, I’m sure I don’t know what you mean. I’m the type of person who’ll let Justice do her work, and not parade in chains and underwear attempting to exercise my own brand of justice.”
“You’re really rather twisted, aren’t you, woman? It makes it hard for me to believe that a few of these people you speak so distastefully of ACTUALLY trust you.” Wonder Warrior replied. But no matter, this won’t affect the fact that this is one case you won’t win.”
“Like I said, things’ll just fall into place. That’s the way justice works.”
“Woman, if you truly believed that, you wouldn’t send your Squad on missions to the death. I on the other hand…” with that, he closed communications.
The man in the gray hood and cloak spoke “Why do you have to keep encouraging her.”
“To assure us that certain things DO fall into place” Wonder Warrior said, in a low tone “and that other things do not.”
“And I thought that was my job.”
“That’s everyone’s job.” Wonder Warrior clasped his coat on. “A lot of things have to be done. I thought we were safe already, but you’ve seen the signs.”
“Yes, that I have. It makes me sorry about certain things that we have to do” said cloaked figure.
Supergirl’s voice rang in the entry-only comm-link “Guys, I’m on my way, she said in a smiling voice, a voice that hid the pain of the loss of her uncle(Power Guy).”
“Especially to her.” Wonder Warrior said remorsefully.

The Skies over L.A.
Kid Marvel really didn’t want to refuse the Titans’ offer. But so many things were going on in his head. “Does she like me?” “Will I fit in?” “Will my powers go berserk again?” “Do they have free food and allowances?”
Kid Marvel thought about all these things almost at once as he flew in the golden sunset. Being part of a team would be great, though none of the Marvel Family members have actually been great at staying on with any team. “Let’s see, Mary joined in with that phony league, that didn’t last long. Capt. Marvel has been with both the JLA and JSA, for like what , two minutes at a time? Black Adam, hoho, don’t get me started.
His wanderings were then interrupted by a sharp red bolt from the sky. ZAP
It singed his arm, “Oww! What in hell?!”
“Oh, no! My power’s much much more divine than that.”
A woman in a black jumpsuit was floating above him with a giant marvel lightning on her chest, only, in red.
“You can call me Black Maya.”

Frosts’s Room…
On the phone Frost spoke to Kid Comet “Where on earth are you? I’ve been looking for you all over the hall.”
“I’m a little busy now” Kid Comet said.
Frost could hear blasts and smashing sounds, as well as growls from where Kid Comet was. “Did you answer a call by yourself again?!”
“Kid, this chat’ll have to be later.” Kid Comet hung up.
Frost sighed. He was ready to open up but unsure of who to open up to. He wanted Kid Comet to tell him he was an idiot for listening to Hermes. That he had to step up and be the leader he was supposed to be. That everyone would stand right by him. He badly needed to be validated right now. And there was no one.
Olympian Hall, Metrotower Annex…
“So, you’re ready?” Wonder Warrior asked.
“As I’ll ever be…” Arachnid was nervous. This was one of those things he knew he had to do but would never be able to stomach.
“You know you’ll have to be careful what you say.”
“I’ve never been put in this situation before. I’ve never even sung in public! Oh okay, maybe I have but was too…”
Wonder Warrior interrupted “I know you use humor to compensate for your lack of spirit, but when are you gonna learn that you don’t have to do that with me?”
Arachnid snickered. “You’re right of course. Know me too well, eh?”
“I trust that the Wall will play her part. We’ll play ours.” Wonder Warrior tapped on his PDA. “I’ll do everything I can to make this easier.”
Queen Bee entered the Olympian Room. “The Silverstreak’s ready.”
“We’re ready.” Frost entered the room, he was wearing a long blue overcoat with the frost tassels his previous uniform also had. “Arachnid? We don’t have much time.”
Queen Bee adjusted one of the tassels “You look great.”
“Thanks.” And to Arachnid, “Just don’t say anything stupid. Act cool. Tell the truth but leave out your usual sloppily-told details.”
“Pssht…” Arachnid snickered “Anything you say boss-man.”
Frost glared at him “Leave THAT attitude here, unless you REALLY wanna end up in jail.”
Wonder Warrior looked like he was about to tear Arachnid apart with his eyes. It was the Arachnid cue to shut up.
“Guess we better get to court.” Arachnid nervously said.
