Five Light-years from Thanagar…
“Space is boring.” The Arachnid sighed, even though the ship moved through light-years like hours, it was still a long process to travel from the Throneworld to what was once New Thanagar. Over the course of their trip, a list of tasks for them to do had arrived on the ship. The Arachnid had been playing with the computer systems in order to see if the ship had an internet connection, but failed miserably.
“Shut up, will you? I’m trying to pilot here.” The Green Lantern shot back, looking at his new traveling compatriot. Truthfully, the technology was too complicated for him, but his ring was piloting for him. His ring has constructed him an Air Force Pilot’s uniform, with a GL logo in place of anything that mentioned any military affiliation on the uniform.
“Liar.” The Arachnid snickered. They were now in the Polaris System, where Thanagar, and its neighbor Rann resided. “Looks like we’ve got an escort. You recognize the big nose spaceships?”
“Thanagarian, I think, Bug-Breath. Guess I’d better use my new diplomatic…power on them.” Scott Stone managed to say, opening up communication between the two ships.
“Greeting, Thanagarians, I am Prince…Scott of Throneworld.” Scott Stone said, having gotten rid of his Air Force uniform construct. “I am here on behalf of Throneworld, and seek to meet your current government.”
“I am General Ch’al Andar, leader of the Wingman Patrol. Speak, your royal highness of Kranaltine,” Ch’al Andar spoke, with dedication, “But be warned, in the past, my government has suffered, we will take this no more!”
“Okay, we only seek escort to your capitol and a nice place to say, as well as an audience by your leader.” Scott smiled back. The transmission ended there, and Scott showed signs of worry, “I’m gonna die!” He screamed.
“Why do you say that?”
“Because, this is Thanagar, man!” Scott breathed, “I’ve met only one Thanagarian, and he nearly took a mace to my head, Mister Jordan was the only one to stop him.”
“When’d you meet an alien before?” The Arachnid enquired.
“I go to Oa every few weeks, to make sure my sector is adequately protected up to the Guardians’ approval. Plus, I travel all around our sector helping alien races.” The Green Lantern beamed.
“Then this will be a walk in the park! You’ve got experience with dumb aliens.” The Arachnid laughed, “Just make sure they treat us like royalty, your kingness.”
“I’m a Prince.”
“Whatever.”

The High Chancellor’s Enquiry…
The Throneworld ship landed on one of Thanagar’s many floathing cities, and was taken to a building named ‘The High Chancellor’s Enquiry’ It was a typical alien government building, and all Wingmen took their helmets off as a sign of respect.
Ch’al Andar, the commander of the patrol that led Green Lantern and Arachnid to the building and awaited them, as they stepped out of their craft. His one eye narrowed at the sight of them, as he stepped back, slowly to allow them passage.
“Thank you, General.” Green Lantern smiled, having changed into more diplomatic clothes, a green, royal looking vest over a white shirt, and a red coat over it. The rest of his costume remained.
“The High Chancellor makes all of Thanagar’s important decisions. He is a very busy man, however, he pleas that you stay in the suite on the second highest floor, the highest is all his, for both personal and business reasons. He expects you to enjoy yourself, and demands my Patrol guard you constantly.” Ch’al said, giving a bow of respect. Over the years, he’d followed in the belief of what was right for the people, and had proven himself at least to Thanagar, that he was the exact kind of hero they needed.
“Thank you, I hope you have given me a big enough room to support both me, and my…War General here.” Green Lantern smiled.
“Hi, I’m his Royal Highness’ War General Most folks call me Arachnid.” The Arachnid waved.
“I heard Kranaltine was in poor condition after recent events, but this is just sad.” Ch’al said, coldly, “You have a large suite sir, in case of lady callers, but, it should be adequate for both of you.”
“Oh, thank you General.” Green Lantern smiled.

The Suite on Thanagar…
“This is nice. Why didn’t you use space royalty before?” The Arachnid asked, looking at his traveling buddy. The Arachnid had decided to call everything ‘space-whatever the thing was’, it was more fun that way.
“Because I didn’t know about it. If I could’ve used this before, believe me, I would’ve. I could’ve shown Supergirl a wonderful time.” He smiled, goofily, already, Green Lantern was thinking about the girl he had a serious crush on.
“Dude, you’re light-years away from her, and, on an alien world! I don’t think you could possibly have it more made.” The Arachnid pointed out, but Green Lantern wasn’t looking. “There was a foxy red-head on the Wingman Patrol, make this some sort of romantic comedy or something.”
“Why don’t you do it?” Green Lantern asked, although he had no idea what he was really responding to.
“You’re the diplomat with a planet waiting for him to become their ruler, I’m not.” The Arachnid answered, “And, I have various issues.”
“Sucks to be you.”
“Don’t I know it.”

The two guards outside of Green Lantern’s suite waited for something to happen, this was not their usual line of work, they were normally in space, fighting Thanagar’s good fight, not babysitting some kind of royalty.
The red-head, or, as she was normally called, Alynna Kroz, was a Lieutenant, and outranked her partner, Katar Fel, who was one of the newest recruits. The two Wingmen worked directly for Ch’al Andar, and weren’t happy with what he had planned.
“Katar, be a dear and check in on them. You know how General Andar wants to keep the Wingmen’s record spotless.” Alynna smiled, warmly, having Katar go in the room. She was wary of the cameras placed in the hallway, but knew the High Chancellor didn’t have the audacity to dare put cameras in a room mainly occupied by government officials from across the universe. Private Fel could explain things to the diplomat privately in there.

Inside Green Lantern’s Thanagarian Suite…
“Excuse, Prince…Skot, is it?” Katar Fel quietly asked, as he walked up to the diplomat, “General Andar has been waiting for Kranaltine’s approval of his…mission for ages now, and he is counting on you to help him, discreetly is possible.” Katar continued to ramble, “He hopes you will comply.”
“What are you talking about?” Green Lantern asked, looking at the Wingman.
“You were not told? Lord Gavyn said he would send you, but, he did not tell you?” Katar asked, weakly, “I am Private Katar Fel, although my rank betrays my keen military mind. For the past ten years, I have been part of the Rannagarian Rebellion, not all of us want war, in fact, quite a few of us believe that our planets will benefit from each other. The Wingmen Patrol has officially executed over a million rebels. But, truthfully, Kranaltine’s been giving them refuge.”
“What?”
“Prince Skot, the Rebellion is counting on you.” Katar Fel stressed, “Without Kranaltine, we would fall horribly. We understand all the upset happenings on your world, but we need allies if we are ever going to strip the High Chancellor of his position of power.”
“Take me and my…War General to the Rebellion. I need to see it for myself.” Green Lantern commanded. He didn’t bother correcting his name, seeing how he needed an official name to give to the other aliens. ‘Skot’ seemed appropriate enough.
“We’re going to a space-rebellion? Seriously? I thought this was a diplomatic mission.” The Arachnid spoke up, having let GL go through the official stuff.
“I should not. But the Lieutenant, she is better suited to guide you to our cause, I will notify her that you request her, Prince Skot.” Katar said, trading place with the Lieutenant quickly.

The Rannagarian Rebellion Base, Rann…
Alynna Kroz had Zeta-Beamed in the two space-farers, taking them to the Rebellion base on Rann. She was unsure of them, but had to follow orders, General Andar would’ve wanted it this way, and since it was too suspicious of him to do this personally, she was elected for the job.
“So, Lt. Croz, was it? This is the Rebellion base?” Green Lantern asked, looking around the domed construct that was quite clearly underground. Even so, it look liked it came straight out an old sci-fi comic, with floating multi-colored screens assisting an obvious scientific team, and high-tech anything floating around the rather large space.
“This must be the Prince of Kranaltine” Came the voice of one of the scientists, he looked to be in his fifties, or older, and wore a lab coat with a particular red and white color scheme. A clear visor finished off his look, along with a part of pants, that seemed to be seamlessly connected to boots her wore, all black.
“Yeah, Prince ‘Skot’, that’s me,” Green Lantern answered, “I needed to see this for myself, and I need to know why I should side with an obviously illegal operation.”
“My name is Adam Strange, Scott.” Adam said confidently, “I know who you are, I was the one that made sure your voyage to Earth was…uneventful. Your father and I set up your life whenever I Zeta-Beamed back to Earth, I’ve fixed that glitch in the Zeta-Beam, and no longer go to Earth.”
“What are you talking about?” Scott asked.
“Years ago, your father feared that assassination attempts on the heir to the throne would never cease. Kranaltine, while its populace is docile, its enemies aren’t, and they wanted the Crown Imperial to finish with Gavyn. He contacted me, and made me take you to Earth. Once there, I sought out Jack Knight. Being his nephew, he saw to it that you had somewhere to grow up. You remember your aunt Sadie?” Adam explained, matter-of-factly.
“Yeah…she’s one of your lackeys?”
“No. She’s your real aunt. Gavyn’s past life’s sister. Will Payton. He gave you his old costume, hoping you would wear it someday, and left one of his bracelets with you. Jack asked Courtney Whitmore to give him back the cosmic rod, so he could pass it on to you. She was very understanding, she got married soon after.” Adam dryly said. “I’ve been waiting a long time for you, kid.”
“Why?” Scott asked, awestruck with this man’s words already.
“Why? Because you hold the key to bringing down the High Chancellor and I didn’t risk my life to make sure you were raised on Earth for nothing.”
