After rating all Spider-Man comics from 1962 to 1989, my next step is to publish a list with the top 100. I want to make it about Peter Parker, earth-616, and this comic is a candidate, but it says in the Marvel Wikia that this Limited series features Spider-Man (Peter Parker), and following the link you end in the main character's page. Yet, in the notes it states that the "Story featured the period between Peter bited [sic] by radioactive spider and death of Uncle Ben, it's not set in Earth-616". Reading the comic you get the impression this is either an alternate universe story, or a revision which heavily modifies events from AF #15. Does anybody know if this is earth-616?

Late reply to the thread, but hopefully still helpful -- Spider-Man: With Great Power is definitely not set on Earth-616. The dead give away is that it's on the Marvel Knights imprint, which these days tells out of continuity stories (unlike at its inception). I also bought the first two issues of this mini-series and they mess with the origin a fair bit...don't ask me to recall how specifically, it's been too long since I read it, but surfice it to say that it was messed with too much for me to be interested, which is why I dropped it.

Not to worry, at least you replied. It was precisely that lack of Spider-Man centered conversations, that compelled me to go back to CBR, sort of. Just a couple of days there, and I had to start a new forum. Between that, CCF, CBREV and the new CBR, I almost have the amount of forum activity, I had before in just one place. And I finally decided to leave this LS out of the Top 100; some confirmation that it was the right move, is welcome, though.

I'm always up for a bit of Spidey conversation...he's my all-time favourite superhero character. There are lots of others in here that are passionate about Spider-Man too and not just the classic stuff, myself and coke & comics read modern Spider-Man and there are probably others in here too. Why not start a few Spidey-centric threads on topics that you want to discuss? I'll always dive in and give my tupence-worth.

I tried a couple of threads here, but they work better in a dedicated forum. They also work on big forums, even if they're not specialized; but if you head over to CBR, you'll see I've only started a single thread there. In general, I'll keep new Spider-Man threads to the Spider-Man forum.

Fair enough, I understand that you're gonna get much more to-and-fro and more widly varying view points in a dedicated Spider-Man forum, but I may start a few Spidey threads here anyway over the next week or so, just to (hopefully) demonstrate that this forum can have some in-depth Spidey chat.

It sound like an "or" proposition. I see it as an "add" choice.

Your words can be summed up with "I choose to (maybe) start threads here, instead of somewhere else". This is choosing between options, when there's nothing preventing you from checking several boxes, considering you don't have radio buttons in front of you.

Ah, I see...well, the only thing preventing me from starting threads somewhere else, like CBR, is that I have zero interest in the CBR forums now. All the folks (by and large) I was ever interested in chatting with are here now. I also don't have time for more than one internet forum in my life and I've chosen this one. So, really, from my perspective there aren't several options. But I understand that that isn't the case for you.
