Titans of Justice Unlimited Chapter 35 – “Bite The Bullet Part 2 “Written & edited by: Power Guy
The Hall of Justice…
“Thank you for coming so quickly Dr. Midnite,” Nucleus said as he led the physician to the Hall’s medical lab to examine Bulletboy.
“It’s no trouble at all,” offered the blind superhero. “You said he was involved in some kind of explosion?”
“Yes, there was a battle between some of our members and your old sparring partners, the Injustice Society,” informed Nucleus. “Shrapnel was also on the scene. To make things short, Powerstorm went to change Shrapnel’s metallic skin into human flesh and then the Wizard manipulated his blast with his magic. God only know what kind of spell was mixed with Powerstorm’s matter manipulation blast.”
As the two intelligent heroes began examining Bulletboy’s unconscious form, Dr. Midnite noticed, “His body is covered with metal shards. Was Shrapnel blown up?”
“No, but he’s a lot…..smaller,” revealed the hero also known as Jason Hardwick. “Plus, these metal fragment imbedded in Bulletboy’s skin seem to be stuck no matter how hard I pull on them with my tweezers.”
“Hmm….a man of your physique shouldn’t have any problem removing these shards of metal,” presumed the good doctor. “Do you have a microscope handy?”
“Of course, it’s right over here,” confirmed Nucleus as he brought the device over to Dr. Midnite.
Outside of the lab, Stellar watched on through the glass window with deep concern. He stood nearly frozen, worried that his friend would not live to see another day. “Why did he have to go on that mission and why did he have to take on Shrapnel? There’s no way he was in Shrapnel’s league….at least not yet. He had such a dysfunctional life and he was just beginning to turn it around and now this happens,” he said to Whirlpool.
“Well at least you helped him see a new light,” offered the prince of Atlantis. “and don’t count him out just yet. Those two men in that room are two of the smartest people on the planet when it comes to biology. If anyone can help your friend, it’s them.”
“I really wish Powerstorm was here so I could find out exactly what happened,” sighed Stellar.
“Well, he and Atmosphere had to stay in Markovia to sort out the international red tape with Geo-Force,” advised Whirlpool. “With me being from Atlantis, I know all about how you need to spell everything out when there’s an incident with a foreign country. Odds are, Atmosphere and Powerstorm are locked in an interview room right now and will be stuck there until at least tomorrow.”
Lady Light, Green Lantern, and Wonder Man made their way down the hallway. “Is there any word yet on his condition?” asked Lady Light.
“Not yet,” answered Whirlpool, softly. “Dr. Midnite has been in there for the last ten minutes examining him.”
Wonder Man put his hand on Stellar’s shoulder, “Don’t worry pal. If anyone can fix your friend up, it’s Dr. Midnite.”
“I told him the same thing,” smiled Whirlpool.
Green Lantern then offered, “Stellar? Would you like to come with me to the Hall’s chapel and pray for your friend?”
“Yeah, that would be great,” Stellar replied, humbly.
But before the two heroes could depart, the Silencer came running down the hallway, “Guys! We’ve got a major problem! Mister Atom has been reactivated and is terrorizing Fawcett City.”
“I’m sorry GL but I’ve got to go save my city!” Stellar said in a panic.
“Don’t worry, I’ll stay here and pray for Bulletboy,” confirmed the green guardian.
“And Whirlpool and I will help you take down Mr. Atom,” smiled Wonder Man. “Whirlpool, are you up for ride in my Invisible Jet?”
“You bet! Let’s go!” the aquatic hero said as he, Wonder Man, and Stellar departed for Fawcett City.
Green Lantern then began walking towards the Hall’s chapel when Lady Light grabbed his shoulder. “Would you like some company?”
“Umm….sure,” affirmed the hero also known as Daniel Jordan.
As the couple walked down the hall, Lady Light asked a surprising question. “Green Lantern, I would like to ask you a question and I hope you can be honest with me.”
“Of course. Go ahead.”
“I notice that you always seem to keep your distance from me. Have I done something to offend you?” asked the daughter of the second Dr. Light.
Green Lantern stopped walking and looked Lady Light in the eyes, “It’s nothing personal Imako. It’s just that you remind me of a very special lady I once knew. In fact, if I didn’t know better, I’d swear you were twins.”
“I see….” commented the mistress of light manipulation. “Perhaps it is better if I stay here while you go to the chapel then.”
“I would appreciate that,” smiled the Green Guardian. “Please don’t take offense to this situation. It is completely out of your control.”
“I understand,” assured Lady Light.
Back inside the examination room, Dr. Midnite had made a shocking discovery. “Nucleus! Come look at this! I need to make sure I’m not losing my mind.
“What is it?” asked Nucleus as he leaned over and looked into the microscope. “Good Lord! The metal is grafting to his skin and bones!”
“Yes, it appears that this metal is integrating with Bulletboy’s body on some level,” remarked Dr. Midnite. “Surprisingly though, his vital signs appear to be somewhat stable.”

Markovia….
“Are we done here?” complained Atmosphere. “We’ve been sitting in this room for almost twenty-four hours and been asked every question in the book besides boxers or briefs? I think we’ve done our fair share of cooperation here.”
“You need to understand that this is a very serious matter,” insisted Geo-Force. “You cannot just come into Markovia unannounced and use it as your own personal battle ground.”
“And I’ve told you several times that we had no intention of doing so,” Atmosphere said, about ready to lose his cool. “The Injustice Society damaged the plane’s auto-pilot and I was forced to set the plane down here in your country. Isn’t it better that I landed it in an open field than letting it crashing into one of your metropolitan areas?”
“Yes but let me make it clear that Markovia will not be your personal arena in the future,” decreed Geo-Force. “I don’t care if you have diplomatic immunity, next time you come into my country fighting your enemies, you will be arrested and locked in our dungeons.”
“I’d like to see you try to keep us here,” smirked Atmosphere as he and Powerstorm made a hasty exit.
“What a jacksass,” grumbled the son of Damage. “By the way, how are you doing? You were pretty quiet in there.”
“I’m sorry. I was just thinking about Bulletboy,” answered Powerstorm as he and Atmosphere took to the air. “I hope makes it.”
“Don’t worry,” offered Atmosphere. “Lady Light took him back to the Hall. I’m sure he’s being given the best possible care right now. With all of the different members of the Titans and the connections we have, someone should be able to help him.”
“I hope so. I hope so….” Powerstorm said, wearily.
