Last Time In Super Friends:
The Super Friends underestimated their newest villain, Disturbia, and whilst a quarter of their roster are paralyzed with fear, the other half have been soul-sucked by Disturbia and trapped in her mind! It’s up to the remaining Super Friends to save the day!
Wonder Girl lay face down on the cold ground, not daring to open her eyes. Her fingers felt dusty rocks underneath her, and she smelt the horrible smell of rotting corpses. Hesitantly, she opened her eyes and crawled up so she was sat on her knees. She groaned miserably as she saw Disturbia for the first time.
Streets and streets of tall, grey houses lined up on both sides of her, with cracked windows and rats scuttling around dirty alleyways. From inside some of the grim houses, Wonder Girl noticed people looking outside, banging on the windows as if trying to escape. On the streets, tramps with grey beards huddled together to create body heat. Wonder Girl shivered as she realized just how cold it was. She stood up and slowly walked over to the group of tramps.
“Excuse me,” she whispered, “do you know how to get out of here?”
The tramps looked at her, some scowling. A small boy of about five pushed himself into the middle of the group, burying his face in the side of a grey-haired woman. One of the group sat up straight and peered up at Wonder Girl through a pair of cracked glasses that looked like they had been gathering dust since the prehistoric times.
“We were innocent,” he said, barely inaudibly. “We did nothing wrong. We don’t know why we are here…please, save us.”
“I-I don’t know how to,” Wonder Girl murmured, walking back a little. “I’m sorry, I have to go.”
“SAVE US!” he screamed, standing up and throwing himself at her. Wonder Girl screamed as she hopped out of the way. Without looking back, she ran up the street, passing a seemingly endless amount of houses. She stopped for breath on a street corner, where more people lay in huddles. One woman with a blonde perm, smoking a cigarette and dressed in a black leather jacket and a red miniskirt walked up to her.
“Hey, have you seen my daughter recently?” The woman said in an Italian accent as she blew smoke into Wonder Girl’s face.
“Your daughter? What, I don’t even know who you are!” she replied. “I have to go!”
“Brittany is in a lot of trouble when she lets me out of here! She is being grounded for a month…” the mother of Disturbia grabbed a cell-phone from her jacket pocket and dialed. “I can’t get a signal in this place! I need to phone Carlos and tell him it’s called off for tonight…”
“Wait, your Disturbia’s mum?” Wonder Girl worked out. “No wonder she’s twisted!” The Amazonian pushed past her and continued down the street, reaching the bottom of a hill. She walked up the grey path running up the hill, until she reached the top. Not too far in the distance was a tall castle, made of black stone.
“Something tells me my way out of here is up there,” Wonder Girl concluded. “Disturbia, you’re gonna wish you never took on Wonder Girl.”
***
“She’s taken the Wonder Twins as well!” Stellar shouted. “Guys, get over here!”
Whirlpool, Air Wave and Kai-Ro ran forward as Disturbia cackled menacingly.
“Oh please! Bring as many reinforcements as you like, there is no stopping me!” she laughed, running forward to fight them head on.
“Everybody, hit her with all you’ve got,” Whirlpool commanded. “Hawkgirl, are you alright?” He asked, helping her up to her feet.
“Yeah, I’m fine…” she replied, grabbing her mace. “What would be up with me?”
“You just saw Wonder Girl get…oh never mind. Just attack that mad woman!”
As the group prepared to attack her, Bulletboy flew in front of them. “STOP!”
“Bulletboy, get out of the way,” Air Wave ordered, “we’re trying to get our friends back here!”
“If we hurt her, Wonder Girl and the twins might get hurt too! We can’t risk it!”
The group all stopped their attacks and sighed. Bulletboy was right.
“The bullet head speaks the truth,” Disturbia laughed, realizing she had the Super Friends beat. “Hurting me could destroy your friends!”
“We can’t just give up!” Stellar cried angrily. “Let our friends go!”
“I’m afraid I cannot! They are trapped in there!” Disturbia grinned.
“Very well,” White Wraith said. The team stopped arguing with Disturbia, surprised that their friend had spoken up. “If you will not give them back, I will take them back by force! Stellar, Hawkgirl, grab my hands..”
Hesitantly, Stellar grabbed his wrist. Hawkgirl took his other wrist. “What are we doing?” she whispered.
“Something I hoped I wouldn’t have to do…” White Wraith replied, “we’re going inside her mind!”
Hawkgirl screamed as White Wraith’s eyes flashed a blinding white color and his cape blew around him as if a hurricane was pushing him along. Stellar closed his eyes as he felt his body warping and distorting.
“What? Hey! Wait for us!” Whirlpool shouted, leaping forward. As the trio began to disappear, his costume brushed past White Wraith’s costume. Within the blink of an eye, the four Super Friends had disappeared from view.

The Wonder Twins landed on their backsides with a THUD! Jayna got to her feet almost instantly. Zan nursed his throbbing back as he watched his sister run off.
“Jayna! Wait up!” He shouted, picking himself up and chasing after her.
“We have to save Wonder Girl before Disturbia gets her!” Jayna shouted, running through an ancient cemetery.
“I get the jeepers from this place,” Zan replied, “it gives me the spooks!”
“If we want to be superheroes, Zan, we have to face our fears!” Jayna retorted, hopping over a gravestone. She stopped abruptly, peering into the horizon.
“What is it, sis?” Zan asked, “what can you see?”
“There’s a castle! My superhero senses tell me that’s where Wonder Girl would go!” the shape-shifter grinned. “We’re almost there already! Now pick up the pace, brother!”
The Wonder Twins sprinted through the cemetery and hopped over the rickety old fence with relative ease. Before long, they had reached the back of the castle.
“How do we get up?” Zan enquired. “My water powers certainly won’t help us now!”
“Well then you’re lucky you have me for a sister,” Jayna grinned. She took the shape of a pterodactyl and hovered above the ground. “Hop on!” she commanded bravely. “Now then, let’s save Wonder Girl!”
***
Wonder Girl gulped as she approached the huge castle door reluctantly. Even though she wanted out, she was still scared to enter the looming castle that cast the constant shadow over Disturbia. Carefully, she grabbed the black handle and pushed the door open, revealing a large, grey chamber. She paused for a moment to clear her head before carrying on. As she walked across the chamber she got the feeling that her fears were hanging over her head, making her feel frightened.
“C’mon Donna, keep it together…” she muttered under her breath. She reached the end of the chamber and opened another door, which revealed a large, black room. In the distance was a huge throne with a tall figure resting comfortably on it.
“It’s you!” Wonder Girl scowled, suddenly taking flight towards the girl that had trapped her. Disturbia laughed as she flipped out of the way of her attack and ran to the opposite end of the room. No matter how fast and how determined she was, Wonder Girl just couldn’t land a hit on her enemy.
“You cannot defeat me, Wonder Girl!” She cackled with victory. “I am perfect whilst in here! You have no chance of touching me!”
Wonder Girl still did not stand down, flying after her and trying to land a punch in but again the psychotic girl dodged her attacks more effortlessly.
“There must be a way to defeat her…” Wonder Girl thought, “I can’t be stuck in here forever!”
“I’m tired of running and dodging,” Disturbia said to her from across the room. “How about I just fight you?” She offered, walking forward. “But, you have the advantage of super strength. So give me the advantage…of your fear!”
Wonder Girl screamed as Disturbia flung her palms forward and her pupils turned white. Wonder Girl realized what she was doing as her greatest fear flashed in her mind, causing her to tremble. She looked up to see Disturbia slowly taking the form of her greatest fear.
“Ah, I quite like this form…” Disturbia admired herself. “Who would have thought one of your greatest fears would have the greatest body known to man?”
“No…stay away from me!” Wonder Girl sobbed, trying to run away. The form of Wonder Woman grinned evilly, raising her sword and holding her shield outwards. Disturbia screamed out a battle cry and ran forward, preparing to slice and dice Wonder Girl.
“NO!” Wonder Girl shouted, flying up into the air. ‘Wonder Woman’ followed, taking up into the sky and throwing her shield at the teen. Wonder Girl grabbed the shield before it could carve her and threw it back at her, hoping to hit her in the head. However, ‘Wonder Woman’ easily dodged the shield, which landed on the floor with a clang. Wonder Girl flew into the rafters, almost falling as a bat flew out at her, scratching her arms. Wonder Woman was right behind her, using her sword to swipe at the girl furiously. Wonder Girl was no match for the speed and strength of Wonder Woman and after a short cat and mouse chase, Wonder Girl was kicked to the floor, where she lay defeated.
“You are not worthy of being a superhero,” Disturbia scowled. “Maybe I’ll just keep you here forever! Perhaps you could join mother on the streets….” she turned back into her usual green-haired self and walked up to a window overlooking her dark realm. “Which reminds me, it’s time to check up on my minions…”
Disturbia peered out of the window, to see a cloaked figure flying through the air towards her.
“Huh? What is that?”
The window smashed as White Wraith flew through it, grabbing Disturbia and throwing her into the opposite wall. Stellar and Hawkgirl flew in after him. Hawkgirl picked up the injured Wonder Girl as Stellar held back Disturbia.
“Get off of me!” Disturbia screamed, punching Stellar in the nose. He cursed as she ran for the door, only for it to be kicked down by Whirlpool.
“You’re not going anywhere!” He said triumphantly, blasting her to the floor with a strong jet of water. The four Super Friends stood around her, glad that they had defeated her.
“Ok, I’m going to send a telepathic message to Air Wave and Kai-Ro, tell them we’re all safe,” he said, putting his hands to his head and looking down in concentration.
“Aren’t we forgetting somebody?” Whirlpool asked. “I’m sure there was somebody else in here…”
“Just one problem now, guys,” Stellar pointed out, “how do we get out?”
“That should be simple,” White Wraith explained blankly, “I reckon I can make a portal out of this place while Disturbia’s mind is weak,” he looked down at the stirring girl. “We haven’t got long before she awakens!”
Everybody stood back as White Wraith mustered his strength to make a small portal out of there.
“It’s working!” He shouted to his friends. “Go, NOW!”
Hawkgirl led the way through the portal, followed by Stellar.
“Wraith, are you going to be able to get through?” Whirlpool asked before he jumped in.
“I’ll be fine! Just get out of here!” He barked. Whirlpool jumped in as the portal began to shrink in size. Suddenly, the boy realized who they had forgotten.
“WRAITH! THE WONDER TWINS!”
White Wraith cursed as he stopped the portal.
“Dammit, how could we forget?” He scowled. “Look, we have to get them, but we have to get them quickly! Before she wakes up again!”
“Well it’s too late for that!” Disturbia laughed, digging into White Wraith’s legs with her long fingernails. “It’s too late for you two now!” She said. “Disturbia has won!”
“Think you could escape from me that easily?” she grinned, tugging White Wraith to the ground. “Nobody can defeat me!”
“Well, maybe we can!”
The Wonder Twins ran through the door to the chamber. Jayna tackled Disturbia to the ground.
“Form of an elephant!” Jayna shouted, sitting on Disturbia. “You are going nowhere, fiend!”
“Wraith, quick, remake the portal!” Whirlpool said as Zan jumped up and down with delight.
“I’m so weak…it’s going to be really small!” White Wraith replied.
“Don’t worry, Wraith, I know you can do it! Just take your time,” Whirlpool said, “The Wonder Twins have Disturbia defeated. Heck, I thought I’d never hear myself say that…”
“Get off of me, you annoying brat!” Disturbia scowled. Jayna folded her arms and grinned, proud of her victory.
“Sorry, no can do! We’re not letting you go!”
“Fine, if you won’t…I’ll just tap into your greatest fears!”
“Shape of a wave!” Zan shouted, turning into a wave. He fell on top of Disturbia’s face, interrupting her. “I don’t know why she doesn’t give up!” he laughed, as White Wraith created the portal.
“C’mon guys, let’s go!” Whirlpool shouted, guiding the twins through the portal. Whirlpool followed them through. White Wraith jumped through afterwards, closing the portal behind him.

“Thank goodness that’s over!” Wonder Girl cried as she landed in the park. She spotted her best friend rubbing her head miserably. “Totem! You’re okay!” she hugged her friend tightly as Huntress came to.
“I never want to go back in there again,” Hawkgirl moaned as Whirlpool appeared from the portal. “I felt so scared…I couldn’t think of anything but my fears!”
“Hey, at least we’re out of there,” Whirlpool said comfortingly. “I didn’t enjoy my time in Disturbia’s twisted head either…” Hawkgirl smiled as Whirlpool walked over to the Javelin.
“Well done again team,” Huntress congratulated. “It seems like I’m always missing the action!” She complained.
Power Lad picked himself up, spotting Wonder Girl hugging Totem tightly.
“Hey, Wonder Babe, what’s up with you?” he asked.
“Go away, Power Lad! I’m really not in the mood for compliments right now!” She shouted, running to the Javelin.
Totem frowned as Power Lad shrugged. “d**n, must be THAT time of the month again!”
The Hall of Justice, 24 hours later…
“Guys, I’ve got amazing news!” Power Lad laughed, bursting into the Hall excitedly.
“What is it, Power Lad?” Wonder Girl asked, not taking her eyes off her teen magazine. She seemed to have recovered well from her traumatic experience the day before.
“I’ve found us the perfect headquarters!” He shouted. The Super Friends stopped what were they doing and looked up at the boy.
“Well, where is it?” Kai-Ro asked, “ooh, is it in space?”
“No…it’s the Secret Sanctuary!”
“Are you kidding me?” Whirlpool smiled, dropping his book on Ancient History. “The Secret Sanctuary? How did you get that?”
“Well, you see, it isn’t technically owned by anybody - it’s been abandoned for years now! But I heard Power Guy saying earlier today that they’re installing cameras in there to keep a watch on it! We could move in there, we’d have freedom, and we’d still be in touch with the Titans!”
“Dude, that rocks!” Air Wave laughed, “but do we really want the Titans to know about it?”
“Air Wave is right,” Totem said, “this should be our own secret place that nobody else knows about!”
“I could use some of my fortune to fix it up with some tech, and Air Wave could use his abilities to fix the cameras so the place looks like it’s empty,” Whirlpool chipped in. “Man, this is gonna be great!”
The Super Friends stopped their conversation as soon as the Huntress entered the Hall, followed by Dark Arrow, Sargona and Kid Comet.
“Hey guys, sorry we’re late,” Huntress apologized, “you all ready for the training session?”
The Super Friends grinned to each other secretly as they prepared for their training.
