I do enjoy weird scenarios like this. I don't they needed a convincing win and I spent too much time cussing what was transpiring on the telly. It is the first time England have lost their first two group games at a World Cup and puts them on course for their worst ever performance at the tournament. I am so f**king angry right now.

World Cup Update:
Costa Rica scored at the end of the first half of their game with Italy. So it's 1-0 Costa Rica.
!Porra, Costa Rica!

And they should have had a penalty kick as well.
I have to think Italy is going to turn on the jets in the second half, if they have any jets to turn on. If they lose this they will face Uruguay in a winner take all match and given how Suarez played yesterday, that's not something you want to do. It suddenly looks possible that England and Italy could both be going home, while Costa Rica goes through. That would be a bit of a shocker there.

Costa Rica wins. They have also qualified for the Sweet Sixteen.
England can not possibly qualify for the next round. Sorry, Jez. I feel bad for them. This was totally unexpected.
At this point, I'm eager to see Costa Rica play somebody like Germany or Netherlands or Brazil. Or Mexico! Or Chile! (Or Switzerland! Or Belgium!)
It's been a fun World Cup.

It's going to be a bit dicey for Luis Suarez, the Uruguay scorer after the World Cup.
He plays for Liverpool in the English leagues...but having destroyed England in the World Cup, fans are calling for his head and want him deported.
I feel a bit of pity for them, he earns a living in the UK, then kicks the UK's ass.
Actually, I want to beat him up too, even though I have to admit, begrudgingly, he played the better game.

group wide open for USA to sneak through after Ghana's draw with Germany. USA has to beat Portugal, I'm hoping they do since Pepe is a world class A-Hole. Germany-Ghana had some very anxious moments if one was backing Germany...as I was

Portugal are there for the taking if USA can contain ronaldo. The rest of the team is pretty average. A draw might still be enough though.

I don't think it's fair that Nigeria has to play Bosnia AND Herzegovina AT THE SAME TIME!

We actually don't have to beat Portugal now. If we draw both of our final two matches, we're in with 5 points.
It brings up a potentially dicey scenario for FIFA: A possible repeat of the fixed match from 1982. Not that this would be that bad, but if USA draws with Portugal, it means that both USA and Germany will go through if they draw with each other in the final match.
Two draws gives USA 5 points. A second draw gives Germany 5 points. Meanwhile, Portugal and Ghana would both be sitting at 1 going into their match, so the winner would be at 4 and be out.
Further, Germany would win the tie breaker with USA on goal differential, so they would still get the 1 seed, giving them no reason to risk a loss in a real contest. And of course, USA's coach is German legend Jurgen Klinsmann, and the U.S. team has at least 4 German born players on it, so there's a lot of interaction between the two squads. It would just make sense for the two teams to play friendly and draw their final match if USA gets a draw with Portugal tomorrow.
Not saying that would definitely happen, but I'm guessing FIFA would prefer it if USA and Portugal didn't draw tomorrow so they could avoid the whole thing.

We actually don't have to beat Portugal now. If we draw both of our final two matches, we're in with 5 points. Drawing with Germany is an uphill task...they need to go for blood with Portugal to get that 3 points, which will cover them if they lose outright to Germany...give me 2:1 in favour of the USA and I'm happy.... USA is in the CONCACAF region, which I'm hoping does well...Mexico too, which drew with Brazil
