By the way...I'm picking Germany as World Cup winners 2014...and also expect Brazil to get another (but not as severe) beating this Saturday.
Also catering for 300 hungry, bar-b-que eating, beer-drinking fans at the bar....

I misread that as one bet. That makes more sense.
I certainly hope you're right about Germany.
I wish DirecTV would show 2. Budensliga so I could watch St Pauli.

They had PTI on at work today and one of the topics was "Does LeBron's return to Cleveland help Johnny Manziel?" Is this what they have left to talk about now? Or did some writer think this was a scintillating topic of conversation? If so, he needs to be fired, and if this is all they have left to talk about in sports, they need to cancel the show and just show reruns of old Little League World Series games, because they've scraped through the bottom of the barrel and into the manure pile beneath it with topics like that.

Even better, the shows cost very little to make. However, all topics still need to somehow link with the 800 pound gorilla known as football. I think ESPN has more football analysts than an NFL team has players.

First Johnny Football and now this. Is the tide turning in Cleveland? Seriously he's an awesome player but this is a joke. How the heck can you do that? And how can the Cleveland fans be so accepting? I wouldn't go see him for free if I was from Cleveland. and when is enough going to be enough with the comparisons to Jordan? He's not anywhere on that level. They actually played defense when Jordan played.

Haha....well some of my beer-swilling mates swore Brazil might rebound today to save face, and instead they get more egg on it with a 3-0 drubbing from the Dutch.... ...and I'm up another $1,500.00

Does any other sport have a game between 2 losers to determine which is the bigger loser? Does the 4th place loser help clean up the stadium when the shows over? You mean like when teams compete for a bronze metal?

Played the best North America had to offer (USA), maybe the best squad in Europe (france), the most successful side in Africa (Ghana),and the best South America had to offer (Brazil and Argentina) and in then end taught the whole world a lesson.

Yes, they've set a very high bar for the next 4 years. I'm hoping England goes back to the drawing board and am following the USA's development quite keenly. There were lots of German fans at the bar...and they're still there. I'm back home with little Jez A great (and very profitable) World Cup 2014....

And they did it with one of the best players of the last season getting injured just before the World Cup, Marco Reus.

He's not anywhere on that level. They actually played defense when Jordan played. Bron's a great player, but I've been rooting against him the last few years because I think someone on his level should never take the easy way out, which is what he did when it started (he had no way of knowing it would collapse in four years), and also because of the comparisons to Jordan. I saw Jordan pour his heart and soul into the game and rip out other people's hearts and souls. Great as LeBron is, I can't really say the same thing about him. But still, the dude wants to come home, he admits he handled it wrongly the last time, and he wants to make amends and be a role model for the people in Cleveland. I don't know how you can fault him for that. It's not a sure-fire winning situation (although it's a good one), and he's handled it much more maturely than he did when he was 25. I did dumb things when I was 25. I don't think he should be held to that any longer, and I don't think you can fault a dude for going home. Also, I'm just excited about next season now. The East is up for grabs. Hell, the West is up for grabs. It's not all about 'Who's going to take on Miami?" now.
