I wonder what the percentage of ballplayers chewing tobacco is these days. I think nearly everyone has switched to gum and sunflower seeds.

Couldn't swear to it, but I think it was banned some years back, period, in the minors.

Tony Gwynn has died. Just turned 54 last month; he was 8 months younger than me. Cancer of the salivary gland, which I assume can be traced to chewing tobacco. Damnation. Tony Gwynn was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his cheek in 2009 which was surgically removed. He did blame it on his decades of chewing tobacco. The cancer obviously returned. R.I.P. Tony Gwynn

What is a Ghana? Has this nation gone to war with yet another small, helpless country?

One thing I know about Ghana, they are the biggest producers of cocoa in the world. If we don't let them win, it could impact chocolate supplies and this can NOT be tolerated.

Ghana has a massive rasta population and is one of the most stoned countries possible so it's going to be a sleepy game - USA too scared to cross the halfway line for fear of a chocolate war and Ghana distracted by visions of the third eye.

Ghana beat the U.S. in the World Cup last time around. It's a bit of a grudge match.
Ghana is along the Gulf of Guinea, pretty close to Nigeria in West Africa. It's a little bigger than the state of Utah.
It is one of the world's largest producers of gold and diamonds. The official language is English.
Richard Wright's book "Black Africa" from the 1950s is about his time visiting Ghana when it was working on gaining its independence from the U.K. Good book!

Having a typically poor American grasp of geography, I'm still trying to come to grips with the fact that Ghana & Guyana are different places, & on different continents, even. Throw in Grenada & things become even more hopeless.
Not that residents of those places should take it personally; I'm pretty bad about certain aspects of American geography, too. I still can't reconcile myself to the fact that Boston is apparently north of New York. Surely the maps are lying about that.

Which is the strongest evidence yet that I'm being lied to.

Toss in Guinea, Guinea-Bissau and Papua New Guinea and it's even a bigger mess.
