1975 Superman Licensing Sheets Cool to see the licensing sheets. I have two pics on my wall that I believe are also licensing sheets, or those "color chart" reference sheets.

John Buscema is never mentioned for the beautiful women he drew.

John Buscema is never mentioned for the beautiful women he drew. (...) Really? I don't think I've ever come across a discussion of his art on comics blogs, forums like this one or even interviews with other comics creators in which his gorgeous renderings of women aren't mentioned.

Yeah, I think he got his start largely in romance comics.

Steve Rude always seems to drop Space ghost into his stories.

X-Men 186, Barry Windsor-Smith Captain Canuck 10, George Freeman - although every page of this is a work of art. My favorite single issue of a comic book. Star Wars 38, Michael Golden - single greatest issue of the whole run. Superman for All Seasons - Tim Sale - although it's the dialogue by Jeph Loeb that really gets me.

BWS' pencils look better than the finished product.

BWS' pencils look better than the finished product. Yeah.. comics are a brutal medium it's amazing when beautiful art makes it through inking, coloring, and crappy printing on crappy paper on old comics.

That BWS pencil drawing is not identical to the Austin inked panel.(the hair is the most obvious) It might not be the before, but a separate drawing by Smith. The inks look fine, no where near Colletta sloppiness. But I am not sure Terry is the best fit for Barry.

It almost looks like the finished picture is " based" on the original pencils.

Elsewhere in a different post on a different topic, someone showed more original art from this issue, and the mohawk hair changes were due to editorial request, apparently... every image of her hair was redrawn and pasted over.
