OK, so I didn't actually read #1 (got 2 and 3.. I decided not get get #1 on purpose, doing my part, but anyway).. when the heck is this comic set?
Scott Lang was a reformed criminal offered a job by Tony Stark with a live, teenaged daughter in the early 80s... the comic acts like this took place last week... he even talks about Stark ENTERPRISES, which hasn't been a thing for a long time.
BUT, we have other stuff that clearly tries to put in it the present.. Tony's in the Superior armor on the cover... they talk about Eric O'Grady, and he even mentions fighting Doom.
Thing is, if he wanted to 'go legit' and he needed money, would he just get it from Reed Richards? Why wouldn't 'temporary leader of the Future Foundation' be something to mention when getting a loan, instead of 'Tony Stark wanted to hire me once'. Or She-Hulk, even? Or Tony (before he went Superior). Asking a bank for a loan is just dumb.
Then, of course, if the little fact that Cassie is dead, and if she's not dead, she's a superhero. This Cassie is clearly pre-Young Avengers.
Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty well written, entertaining comic, I'll probably continue to buy it. But it just makes NO SENSE to be in the current Marvel Universe. The only way it works is it it's set in 1986, but then there's no cell phones, etc.
