I've mentioned this site before on the old forum, but I'd like to mention it again here. I highly recommend joining this site for cheap reads. I've been a member for about five years now I think. I started off actually listing my old paperbacks and hoping to ship one off for a credit, but the cost of shipping nearly matches the cost of a credit, so I've figured out a great way to get cheap TPB's and GN's.
Buy the credits in the marketplace. If you wait for the right deal you can get them for $2 each. A credit can be exchanged for a book. If you only search what's posted you'll never find any good comic related stuff, what you do is search all books, and then click the ones you want and get on the waiting list. Fill your wish list up to maximum capacity immediately, and if later you're browsing and see a book you want to add, you can manually delete one. I find it best to keep 300 wishes queued up though, more likely to get an offer for one that way. Sometimes you're first in line, sometimes you're 20th in line. Sometimes you'll get a wish list book instantly, some wish list books are unlikely to ever be posted. I have been doing great on the site over the years though and must have gotten 50 or 60 TPB's for $2, free shipping. Plenty of them would be hardcovers too.
The best ones I've gotten was the Lone Wolf And Cub retailers incentive hardcover from Dark Horse, I sold it for $40. Another is the signed and numbered Conan vol. 1 hardcover, also from Dark Horse. I got the Abandoned Cars hardcover by Tim Lane. Several Bone color volumes, plenty of Vertigo stuff, including all the Vertigo Crime books, some of them in HC. Multiple copies of The Death Of Speedy that I ended up passing out to friends.
In the past two days I've gotten Lobster Johnson vol. 1 and Silverfish in the mail, and I'm waiting on A Sickness In The Family right now.
